Jenny nodded in satisfaction at his attitude. "Jade is my family. If you make her suffer, I'll beat you up!"

The Walters could easily defeat the Pearsons. Of course, Jenny didn't want that to happen. She would prefer to see Jade and Max happily married.

"You're worrying too much." Max smiled. "Why would I be in such a hurry to marry her if I didn't like her?" He couldn't wait to marry Jade. He loved her that much and wouldn't let anyone object.

"How come I've never seen you so deeply in love?" Jenny teased. Perhaps she was still biased against Max.

After all, Max had given her the impression that he was a player. If he had just been honest from the start, this wouldn't be a problem now.

Jenny was speechless.

"And she doesn't need you to like her," Alec continued, glaring at him.

She felt that even if she had gotten together with Alec, Stephanie was still her friend. She didn't think that Stephanie was bothering them at all.

Alec laughed. "You're right, Jenny. What, don't you think I'm charming enough to let you stay?"

"It's enough." It was the perfect amount.

Alec smiled once more. He was in a great mood.

The car quickly reached the villa. Since the night was still young, Alec went to his study to settle some business affairs. Jenny read a book in the meantime.

At first, she'd wanted to head to her bedroom, but Alec wanted her to stay with him, so she agreed.

She could hear the tapping sounds from his keyboard. She looked at him, watching his long, slender fingers typing rhythmically on the keys. He looked handsome under the warm light.

She trailed her gaze up toward his chiseled face. Paired with his serious expression, he was an attractive sight.
