After dinner was over, Jenny walked out of the restaurant and took a deep breath. she felt much more relaxed after taking in some fresh air. She was still uncomfortable with social settings like these. Burying her head in surgery or scientific research was more suitable for her.

Jenny suppressed her laughter. “I would say we’re on okay terms. I just met him today.”

Alec was inexplicably relieved, but he still said, “I don’t think he looks like he’d just met you.”

Men knew men best, so Alec could tell what Derrick was up to.
