Jenny’s words had come straight from her heart, but Jolene didn’t believe a word. She had already pegged Jenny as her rival, here to steal everything away from her.

She scoffed and said, “What a lovely excuse. Why would you come here if you weren’t interested in the Walters?”

“Because of you and your mother.” Jenny smirked. If it weren’t for them, she might not have come back.

Jolene didn’t want to continue with the topic. She thought there was no point in it. “Tell me, what do you want?”

Jenny frowned and laughed. “What can I do? Why can’t I understand what you’re saying?”

“Stop acting dumb. How much money do you want to leave the Walters?” Jolene asked. In her eyes, Jenny was doing this for the money.

Jenny was annoyed seeing Jolene act so high and mighty. Couldn’t she understand plain English? Hadn’t Jenny made it clear enough?

“Money? How much money can you give me?” Jenny asked her as if she were looking at a fool.

Jolene thought for a moment and said, “One million dollars. You will leave the Walters and never come back.”
