"Do you think Zeke will let you go just because you used the Watkins as a scapegoat?" Evan smiled. To him, it didn't matter to Zeke who killed Xavier. It only mattered that Alec could not live.

Zeke truly did not want to give the Fausts to Alec.

Alec smiled lightly, not worried. "That's none of my business. I only need to survive in his hands. You don't have to worry about me."

Evan scoffed. "Would I be worried if it didn't concern Jenny's safety? You should understand the position that you're in now. The closer you are to Jenny, the more dangerous it is for her. You wouldn't think the Faust boy is any good, would you?"
