"Where is Buddy?!" Nyla demanded, her eyes blazing with anger and disgust. "I'm asking you, where is he?!"

"Don't worry. He's safe—for now, at least," Clark replied.

"Why are you doing this? Are you crazy?" Nyla questioned, her voice sharp.

Clark looked at her, his gaze disturbingly gentle. "Nyla, I didn't mean to kidnap you. I just wanted a proper conversation, but you never gave me a chance. As for the child, we'll have our own in the future."

Nyla's eyes widened in shock and fear. "Clark, what are you planning to do to Buddy? He's not even five years old! If you want revenge, come at me! Don't hurt him!"
