Chapter 1678

When Molly woke up, it was dark outside.

She looked at the clock and saw that it was almost 6 pm. She hurriedly got up.

After taking a shower, she went downstairs and saw Tony hurrying to Sean. She was some distance away from them, so she didn't hear their conversation.

Tony didn't stay long. He left in a hurry with a serious face, just as when he came.

'What happened?'

Sean turned his head and saw Molly standing on the stairs. His grim eyes became instantly tender. He asked, "You're awake?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Molly snapped back to her senses and looked down the stairs.

Their eyes met.

With a smile, she walked down the stairs and asked, "I saw Tony. Is there anything wrong?"

Sean smiled at her and took her hand. He didn't answer her but asked, "Are you hungry? Dinner is ready."

Then he was about to lead her toward the dining room.

"Sean," Molly said, not moving. She glared at him and demanded, ' You haven't told me what's going on."

She knew Sean didn’t want her to worry, but they were a couple. She wanted to face everything with him.

"It's no big deal."

Sean wore a look of surrender. Then he gently pinched the tip of her nose and continued with a smile, "Our men took action."

'They took action?'

Molly froze. 'What an urgent thing it is! Why is he so calm and smiling at me?'

She asked with a frown, "How are things now?"

This time, Sean told her everything in detail.

"Our men are currently engaging with the enemy at the base, and the situation is quite deadlocked. No party has the upper hand."

Molly blushed, "Hey, you're treating me like I'm a baby! I can do it myself."

Sean didn't say anything. His eyes were full of tenderness.

Molly was hungry, so she quickly finished the bowl of soup.

She felt warmth in her stomach.

She looked up at Sean. He was quietly eating his dinner. He probably noticed her gaze, so he looked up.

Their eyes met.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Molly asked, "Has the Bone-Melting Powder been sent to the base?"

"Yes, I guess so."

Molly frowned at this answer. "What do you mean by 'I guess so'? Is there something wrong?"

Sean put his fork down and replied, No. It's just there is no news yet. I've had it sent to the base. If nothing goes wrong, the powder should be at the base now."

"I see." Molly was relieved. "As long as Bone-Melting Powder is sent to the base, those Venomous Insects will be destroyed. They won't be a threat to us anymore."
