Nerissa was shocked.

She had rarely seen her son blush; did something just happen?

She tried thinking of all the possibilities that may have caused him to blush, but she couldn't figure out anything. This was indeed a rare occurrence.

"Mom," Zachary sounded a little bitter. "I'll handle this myself. Don't worry about it."

Although it was an answer that he frequently used, she still felt shocked.

Nerissa was looking at her son suspiciously when she suddenly noticed a bite mark on his neck.

It was a faint bite mark.

Well, she instantly understood what happened.

Initially, she was rather shocked, but it eventually turned into a pleasant surprise and she almost chuckled.

Her son had acted swiftly and efficiently. Yvonne literally just returned to the country.

It looks like something big must have happened the previous night. Their relationship must have progressed a lot then.

Perhaps, this afternoon she could secretly tell her granddaughter that she might be having a baby brother or sister soon.

"Okay, okay, I won't worry about it. I trust you will handle it well. Good luck, my son," Nerissa said. "Courting a girl is just like doing business. You need to use the proper technique and have the courage to move forward."

Upon hearing her words, Zachary was stunned for a moment and blushed even more.

"Mom, what exactly are you talking about?"

"You don't have to be shy. I was once your age. If you continue your previous lifestyle, you're going to remain single for the rest of your life. Your child is already so big and yet you have not gotten married. You need to act quick," she sighed. "However, I'm pleased to see where you've progressed to today. It looks like I'll be hearing good news from you soon. I should probably start getting ready for your wedding ceremony."

He attempted to explain further, but Nerissa turned around and left. She no longer had any questions or doubts.

He frowned and wondered if he had accidentally revealed his whereabouts.

How did his mom suddenly go from being suspicious to feeling convinced in a split second? It looked like she might have realized his actions of the previous night.

He couldn't help but blush even more.

He rubbed his face with both hands and went upstairs.

He entered the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. Suddenly, he noticed the bite mark on his neck and instantly, he understood the meaning behind his mom's smile earlier.

It turned out that he had already been exposed.

He shook his head with a bitter smile and closed his eyes to recall what had happened the night before. It was so intense.

It was a strange, yet familiar sense of joy.

He couldn't remember when was the last time he felt like that as he was never a person who took feelings to heart.

However, he wasn't sure how he was able to go on for the entire night. There were dark circles underneath his eyes and his eyes were bloodshot.

Yvonne didn't reject his advances the previous night.

Of course, he wouldn't have given her a chance to reject him, but he couldn't understand why she was not against it.

When he opened his eyes, there was only meaning in his stare. He hadn't had enough.

It simply wasn't enough.

It seemed that he had underestimated her level of influence on him.

However, he understood that the issues between them couldn't be resolved simply by sleeping together for one night.

Even though both of them already had a child together, it didn't change the fact that there were too many issues between them.

If they truly want to be together, they have to clear all the obstacles between them.

The person outside the door knocked again. Every once in a while, that person would knock on the door thrice in a row steadily and patiently.

Only then did Yvonne realize that it might not be Zachary after all.

She got out of bed, got dressed, then approached the door.

Sure enough, a stranger was standing outside her room.

She was startled. Seconds later, she remembered who he was. "Isn't this man Zachary's personal assistant?"

She had the photograph and information of this man, Aidan Simpson.

"Hello," Yvonne called out.

"Miss Attwood," Aidan introduced himself politely, "I'm Mr. Lowe's assistant. He instructed me to send you to the unit that you were staying in before you left Northern City. Here's the key."

"The unit where I used to live?" She was shocked. When she saw the set of familiar keys, she was even more shocked.

She thought that the apartment had been rented out already.

In fact, the agency had transferred the funds over to her account, so why would Zachary still have the key to her unit?

Seeing that she didn't accept the keys, Aidan said, "Miss Attwood, it would be best for you to accept this set of keys."

"Oh." Yvonne regained her senses and immediately took the keys from him. Suddenly, the corner of her lips curled up and she asked while smiling, "Mr. Simpson, I would like to ask you something. Has your president been keeping this unit all this while?"

"That's right," he nodded.

"Why?" She asked him and her eyes were full of expectations.

He seemed to have sensed why she was asking this question. Nevertheless, he was Mr. Lowe's personal assistant, so he couldn't reveal too much of his thoughts. Hence, he smiled and asked her in return.

"Yes, Miss Attwood, why do you think so?"
