Yvonne had never seen Zachary act like that before. When she saw Zachary behaving that way, she was stunned.
Was he flirting with her?
Yvonne avoided his gaze and spoke at once, "I just want to eat something right now. I'm really hungry."
Then, she lowered her head.
Zachary glanced at her and found her blushing. Her face glowed bright red; he found it adorable.
Zachary narrowed his eyes and said nothing.
The elevator finally arrived on the ground floor.
The door opened not long after.
They walk out one after the other.
Yvonne followed behind him, and they headed towards the parking lot together.
The lighting in the underground parking lot was poor. As soon as Yvonne entered, she felt stuffy and subconsciously leaned closer to Zachary.
He noticed it and frowned, then looked at her quietly.
Yvonne immediately took a step back.
Zachary walked forward while Yvonne followed closely behind again.
He looked at her, and she once again retreated.
After repeating such a cycle several times, Zachary reached out to hold her hand and said, "Since when were you so scared of the dark?"
He remembered that in the past, Yvonne was not afraid of the dark.
Yvonne stiffened as she looked at the hand that was holding hers. His hands were large and she felt comforted when she felt the warmth coming from his tight grip.
She took a deep breath and looked at Zachary, "I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm just scared of parking lots."
Zachary was surprised by her answer. He lifted his eyebrows and glanced at her, "Scared of parking lots?"
"Yeah." Yvonne nodded.
"Why?"
Yvonne didn't reply.
She kept silent.
After a long while, she suddenly looked up, smiled at Zachary, and said, "Don't you think that underground parking lots are very ominous?"
Zachary narrowed his eyes; there was a gleam of suspicion in them.
She was never one to believe in ghosts.
Of course, neither did Zachary.
"Don't try to change the topic. Tell me, why?" Zachary said in a low and commanding tone.
Yvonne was dumbfounded for some time before she looked at him and said, "One year, I met a hooligan in an underground parking lot."
Since then, she had been terrified of underground parking lots.
Upon hearing her words, Zachary narrowed his eyes in an instant.
His eyes were filled with hostility as he tightly held onto Yvonne. In a deep voice, he berated, "What did that hooligan do to you?"
Yvonne paused for a moment before she shook her head and said, "Nothing. He did scare me, but I wasn’t violated."
Her words were casual, but they came out slow.
Zachary knew she wasn't telling the truth.
At least, not completely.
"I want the truth." He insisted. He even stopped and turned to look at her.
She couldn't help but shiver in fear as she was under his sharp gaze and in a gloomy underground parking lot at the same time.
Zachary's gaze tightened. He quickly held her hand and walked to the car.
Soon, they arrived at the side of the car. He opened the door and let her in.
Yvonne was grateful for Zachary's consideration. Luckily, he did not make her stay in the underground parking lot for too long.
Seeing that she didn't intend to tell the truth, Zachary instantly said viciously, "Why didn't you just starve to death?"
Yvonne didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Only when he released her did she let out a sigh of relief.
He started the car again and drove to a somewhat high-end restaurant.
Only then did Yvonne find out that Zachary had brought her out for a meal.
He ordered four dishes, a soup, and two sets of desserts.
Yvonne began to eat. She thought the food tasted well, but the atmosphere wasn't ideal; it was deadly silent the entire time.
Zachary did not say a single word and just calmly watched her eat. He basically ate nothing at all.
When Yvonne saw that he hadn’t touched any of the food, she couldn't help but say, "You should eat something. You have barely eaten since last night."
Zachary remained silent.
Yvonne pursed her lips as her heart tightened. She knew that he was still angry about her refusing to tell him the reason.
She could understand.
Because anyone would also want to know.
However, the truth might affect him. She did not want it to affect Zachary.
When she thought of the past, an inexplicable fear and helplessness arose in her heart.
Perhaps it was fate.
"Zachary, you should eat." Yvonne reminded him again, "If you don't eat, you'll have gastric problems."
Zachary replied with a flat tone, "So what if it does? What does it have to do with you?" Yvonne felt a stab in her heart again.
She understood that Zachary was angry because she refused to tell him the reason.
However, she couldn't cower.
So, Yvonne mustered up the courage to say, "Of course it does. Like I said before, I'm going to make you mine. So, your body has something to do with me."
"You're going to make me yours?" Zachary asked coldly, "You're that confident that you're the only one for me?"
