Upon hearing this, Benjamin's face suddenly turned pale. He didn't know much about the Lowe family, but he was aware that the former president of the Lowe family was sentenced to jail. However, he did not know the reason behind it.
There were many rumors about Zachary's personality as a cruel and merciless man. On the surface, he looked like a gentleman, but deep down he was a brutal man. He was the person responsible for the prison time of his uncle and his aunt. Now, even Donald Lowe was terrified of Zachary.
But all the other relatives of the Lowe family seemed to be standing on Zachary's side. Thus, this made the Lowe family seem very harmonious.
At least on the surface.
When Benjamin heard Zachary mention his aunt and uncle, he suddenly broke out in a cold sweat unconsciously. A chill ran down his spine.
He didn't look well as his face was gradually turning pale, but he didn't want to show his fear.
With that being said, Benjamin smacked his lips and forced a wry smile. Due to the immense pressure, he still chose to take a step back and soften his tone, "Who would have thought that my son-in-law would actually harm his own relatives. But I'm your father-in-law after all. You will be ashamed if I were to live a shabby life."
"He won't," Yvonne interrupted Benjamin coldly, "What does Zachary have to do with you? No one in the world knows who you are, so do you think people would give a d*mn?"
"Yvonne, I'm your father, you won't be able to change this fact for the rest of your life," Benjamin was still a bit proud of this. "We are related by blood. Even if you hate me, you have to understand that it's not easy for me to raise you."
"You didn't raise me, it was Grandpa and Grandma who raised me," Yvonne retorted.
"That's true, but they are my parents! You used up their money and resources which was rightfully mine since I am the heir and their children. You said that I didn't raise you, but when did I not? All of the money you used is mine."
He was truly brazen.
Yvonne clenched her teeth. Her eyes were red, and she was trembling in rage.
"You've already gotten all you want from me. Now, you are at fault for not helping your father through hard times. You have no conscience. A conscientious child won't bear to treat her own dad this way," Benjamin was still hoping to get some benefit out of Yvonne.
"Get out," Yvonne pointed at the door and ordered, "Get out of here."
Benjamin looked at Zachary and said, "Mr. Lowe, so I've learned how the Lowe family treats guests. Since you have gotten engaged with my daughter, you have to hold a wedding right? If the Attwood family is not there, wouldn't it be inappropriate?"
Another threat again.
Yvonne closed her eyes, her tightly clenched fists covered in sweat. She was used to being treated like this a long time ago.
She only felt extremely guilty now because Zachary was being treated as such as well.
"Yvonne, you still need a father to hold your hand and walk you down the aisle," Benjamin smiled maliciously, "So, you'd better endure it. I am your father."
Yvonne frowned, and with a cold snort, she said, "You are not required to attend the wedding. The wedding can go on regardless of you being there or not. Worst comes to worst, I might as well not hold a wedding at all so you won't have such an opportunity."
Benjamin gritted his teeth, "You're really ruthless. Since you're already so cruel to your dad, I'm sure that you'll be as cruel to others around you, right? You are such a heartless person."
"Mr. Attwood, you can shut up now," Zachary could no longer stand him saying such outrageous things to Yvonne, "I don't need you to tell her what to do."
Benjamin glared at Zachary and took a deep breath without saying anything.
Thinking of her father and her family, Yvonne smiled bitterly again.
"Yvonne, don't think about those things anymore. It's all in the past," Zachary could not bear to let Yvonne recall her painful past.
"Zachary, this isn't something that I can stop thinking about. The both of us clearly know that he will come looking for us again."
"Yvonne," Zachary grasped Yvonne's hand tightly and tried to comfort her, "Truthfully, I don't think I can tolerate him either. I can't bear to think about how badly they've treated you over the years. I'm so mad that I want to let them have a taste of their own medicine."
"Zachary, in fact, there is no need for that," Yvonne shook her head and said in a calm tone, "What I have gone through over the years is not that bad. My grandfather had looked after me all these years. After my grandfather passed away, I met Fabian and also Mr. Trevino. They have been of great help to me."
Fabian again.
When Zachary heard Fabian's name, he couldn't help but frown.
"Mr. Trevino has helped me a lot financially,"
Yvonne continued, "He's a good man."
Zachary was still slightly frowning.
Yvonne took a deep breath and continued, "Now, I finally managed to meet you again. In my opinion, life has been kind to me. I finally got what I wanted"
Zachary's slightly furrowed brows relaxed a little, but there was still a hint of enviousness in his tone as he asked, "Fabian helped you and he doesn't want anything in return?"
