Celeste was very surprised to receive a call from Gary. It should be midnight now in the United States. That meant that he was calling her in the middle of the night. Shouldn't he be asleep?

"You'll be boarding soon," Gary didn't answer her but just said, "You're going to get on the plane in a bit."

"In a few more minutes," Celeste replied, "Haven't you slept yet? Why don't you sleep since it's so late?"

Her tone of voice was full of concern.

Beside her, Ernest listened to their conversation without saying anything. Celeste lowered her head while speaking on the phone. Her voice was as gentle as the summer's breeze, and her side profile looked as elegant as blooming flowers.

"Is Ernest next to you?" Gary's voice was heard once again.

Celeste stiffened and turned back subconsciously. She saw Ernest looking at her. His eyes were black and bright, and as deep as the sea.

He was just looking at her.

Celeste was stunned and said to Ernest, "Ernest, what's the matter?"

Ernest only narrowed his eyes. Looking at her clear- headed attitude, he knew that there were some things that were destined to happen.

Ernest forced a smile and shook his head, "It's okay, just keep talking."

"Okay," Celeste nodded and turned her attention to the phone, "You haven't told me the reason you're calling me at this hour."

Gary couldn't help noticing Celeste's tone when speaking to Ernest. He smiled and admitted, "I miss you."

Celeste's heart suddenly jumped to her throat.

She immediately felt guilty and her pretty face turned pink, exuding an irresistible charm.

Ernest's gaze grew sharper.

Celeste turned her face and back away from Ernest and lowered her voice, "I've passed the security checkpoint, so I'm going to board the plane soon."

"I know. I'm just telling you that I miss you," Gary explained, "I've been missing you since I hung up the last time."

Celeste's face was burning.

When Celeste heard these words, she was so shy that she felt like dying.

There was also a trembling tone in her voice as she insisted, "I need to hang up now, both Ernest and Maria are coming. We're going to board the plane."

"Celeste," Gary called out Celeste's name before saying, "Remember, you're not alone."

"Huh?" Celeste was stunned, and her heart tightened.

She could tell that the tone of Gary's words was extremely solemn.

She held her cell phone and did not hang up.

"I'm here," Gary said again, "I've always been here."

After hearing what he said, Celeste felt extremely warm. She finally felt that she was no longer lonely since she had finally found someone to accompany her.

Despite being miles apart, she felt that he was by her side. When she heard his voice, it was as if he was right in front of her and by her side, giving her strong support that drove away the loneliness around her.

"Thank you," Celeste thanked him sincerely, "I'm fine." "Alright," Gary nodded, "Then go and board the plane and have a good rest. You'll be there very soon."

"Okay, then I'll hang up," Celeste replied softly.

"You can hang up now," Gary answered.

After a moment of silence and waiting, Celeste hung up the phone first.

Holding the phone, she looked up at the entrance of the cabin in front of her and smiled softly.

Was this what it felt like to be in love?

Even if she was lonely, as long as she received a call from him, she would instantly feel incomparably happy. Nothing in the entire world would make her feel this way.

However, she nodded her head very honestly and admitted, "Yes, it was Gary who called me just now."

Ernest was stunned. He probably didn't expect Celeste to admit it so generously.

He immediately laughed and joked, "After my brother left, he didn't give me a single call. Instead, he called you. Celeste, you're very lucky. You've won Gary's favor."

Celeste was dumbfounded to hear that, "Your brother didn't call you at all?"

"Are you surprised?" Ernest raised an eyebrow at her.

Celeste admitted, "A little."

"I'm not surprised at all," Ernest shrugged.

Celeste was silent for a long time before she said incredulously, "Didn't you call him?"

Ernest arched his brows.

"If he didn't call you, you wouldn't have called him either, right?" Celeste asked again in a somewhat urgent tone.

Ernest's fingertips moved and he sighed. Through the window, he looked at the airport outside and commented, "Celeste, from your tone, it seems that I should take the initiative to call my brother instead of him calling me."

Celeste shook her head and clarified, "That's not what I mean. Um, no, that's exactly what I mean. Although I want to explain it to you, I can't do it clearly."

She had admitted her original intention honestly.

"Ernest, I think that your personality is rather outgoing and tolerant. A person like Gary is naturally a bit awkward, so I hope that you can break the ice with him. But now that you've asked me this question, I feel like it's unfair to you. So, I'm sorry."

Ernest smiled and turned around. When he looked into Celeste's eyes, he found that her eyes were indeed full of apology.

"Don't apologize. You're right. I should call him, so lend me your phone."

As he spoke, he reached out his hand.
