Liam was even more exasperated the moment he saw Ernest. Seeing that Ernest was smiling at him, he quickly calmed down and said sarcastically with a fake smile, "Ernest, you are so good at lying."

Ernest played dumb and just beamed at him. With that, the two of them just stood there laughing, and there was an obviously tense atmosphere surrounding them.

"Liam, what are you talking about? I don't quite understand."

"You don't understand?" Liam sneered sarcastically, "What do you don't understand? You're so hypocritical trying to play dumb in front of me."

"Liam, I don't agree with you," Ernest was not furious at all. After all, it was indeed his fault for lying to a friend, but Liam was definitely on Cindy's side. With that, Ernest didn't dare to say too much about Celeste.

"Do you know what I want to do now?" Liam glared at Ernest, his pupils filled with sheer fury.

Ernest took a guess. Liam desperately wanted to

beat him up.

But so what?

Ernest was not the kind of person who would just stand there and allow a one- sided battle. He would fight back for sure.

But the only thing Ernest could do now was to play dumb.

"I can't figure out what you are going to do!" He shook his head and shrugged innocently, "I really wanted to understand your thoughts."

Liam clenched his fists at his side with a loud crack.

Ernest still had an innocent smile on his face as he asked," Liam, do you want to start a fight?"

"I really want to beat you up, and you do deserve it," Liam growled, "Is it fun playing around with me?"

"Of course not," Ernest shook his head quickly, "What tricks can I play with you, Liam? If you didn't come, I would have gone out by now."

"Hah!" Liam became even more exasperated, his chest heaving up and down. It seemed like his anger was about to burst through his chest at any moment.

Concurrently, Maria had come over and saw that Liam was standing with his back towards her, while Ernest was standing at the top of the stairs. It seemed like a fight was about to break out.

Maria was a little worried and stopped them, "Ernest, stop messing around!"

"Maria, you'd better go back to your room," Ernest was afraid that Maria would say that Celeste was staying here, so he quickly interrupted her words.

Maria was dumbfounded and pursed her lips. When she looked at Liam again, there was a look of hesitation and apology in her eyes.

She wanted to tell him, but she was not someone who would betray her friends.

Liam turned around and looked at Maria's hesitant face. He squinted his eyes slightly. He could see that the girl in front of him had something to say.

"You're Maria, right?" Liam looked at her and asked.

"I'm Maria Lowe," Maria immediately clarified, "You can call me Maria."

"Okay, Maria then. Tell me where Celeste is?" Liam was direct.

Maria was frightened and subconsciously glanced at Ernest.

With just one glance, everything was exposed.

Ernest was very calm and did not feel sorry or guilty at all. He just looked at them calmly.

Liam stood on the steps, his gazes switching between Maria and Ernest. He had long lost his patience.

"Maria, are you not willing to tell me as well?" Liam asked, "Aren't you friends with Celeste?"

Maria was stunned and nodded, "I'm sorry, Mr. Robinson. I'm a friend of Celeste. It's precisely because I'm her friend that I'm more worried about Celeste. I..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Liam caught on to her and smirked, "You can't tell me. That means you know, but you refuse to tell me."

Maria couldn't say it aloud. She looked at Liam and avoided his gaze. She didn't know how to face him.

Liam's sharp gaze pierced through Maria's words. He was rooted in place for a very long time. He just stared at Maria and waited for her to come clean.

However, Maria was still silent.

"Liam," Ernest chuckled, "Did you come all the way to my house just to stare at my cousin?"

Liam snorted with contempt in his eyes, "You're putting on such a show. Do you think I don't know anything about it?"

Hearing this, Ernest's gaze flashed.

It seemed like Liam was certain that they had brought Celeste away.

All the while, Celeste had overheard that Liam found the surveillance footage of her apartment and saw that she left with Ernest.

She was very moved that Liam had been looking for her.

"Mr. Robinson," Celeste greeted, "I am very touched and grateful that you're worried about me and looked for me for the entire night. I'm the one who told Ernest and Maria not to tell anyone about my whereabouts. It's my fault. If there's anyone to blame, it should be me."

"Celeste," Liam immediately shook his head. He had fine lines around his brows and looked quite weary, "I don't mean to blame you. I understand how you felt when you left, but it's too unsafe for a girl like you to leave so rashly. This is not our hometown. Our habits and laws might differ. Do you understand what I mean?"

"I do. Thank you," Celeste felt that her chest was heavy and was quite upset. She didn't know if Liam was doing this because her aunt asked him to.

Did Cindy ask Liam to look for her?

Looking at Liam's gentle face, she didn't have the courage to ask.

"Liam," Meanwhile, Ernest walked over. He stared at Liam and said very seriously, "It's not my intention to hide her from you. To be frank, I'm not sure if you are a friend or a foe."

Liam frowned. When he turned to look at Ernest, his handsome face suddenly darkened as he grunted nonchalantly, "You are not my friend."

"Don't be upset," Ernest was still smiling, "I know my actions were wrong. It's just that I did this all for Celeste's sake. Now, let me come clean. Celeste has to continue her studies, but we have no idea what her aunt wants to do."

The meaning behind his words were obvious. Even though Ernest did not finish his sentence, Liam obviously knew what he was talking about.

Liam had come to look for Celeste but Cindy wanted to stop him. This really made him very disappointed in Cindy.

"Celeste," Liam glanced at Celeste and said, "I don't know what Miss White is planning to do, but do you have a plan of your own?"

Disappointment instantly spread in the depths of Celeste's heart.

She felt her heart sink.

It turned out that her aunt didn't ask him to look for her. She was just overthinking things.

"I just hope that Mr. Robinson can pretend not to see me. Please don't meddle in our business anymore," Celeste uttered softly.

Liam frowned. When his eyes fell on Celeste's face, he noticed clear disappointment in her eyes.

After pausing for a moment, he turned to look at Ernest and asked, "What are you going to do about this?"
