Originally, Maria just wanted to give Ernest a reminder, but she was shocked by his words. She felt that she had really misjudged the situation.

There was nothing wrong with Ernest since he was well-prepared. She was just overly worried.

Seeing that he was calm, she nodded and felt relieved.

"I know. I have a hunch that Celeste will become my cousin-in-law," Maria said with a smile, "Ernest, what kind of girl will you bring back in the future?" Ernest took a look at her sharply.

Maria smiled and shrugged, "I'm going upstairs."

Ernest didn't say anything. Watching as Maria left, he closed his eyes again.

Maria did not return to her room immediately. Instead, she stood in the corridor on the second floor and looked up in the direction of the third floor.

She felt that it was necessary to call them down so that they could spend some time together.

Therefore, Maria shouted.

"Celeste, where are you?"

Her voice was loud and clear.

In the room upstairs, Celeste was still sitting on Gary's lap. Maria's voice was so loud that it almost made her jump.

However, Gary wrapped his arm around her waist and didn't let her leave.

Hence, Celeste couldn't move.

"Maria's calling me," Celeste reminded him.

"Ugh, she's insufferable," Gary said with a pout.

Celeste didn't know if he was talking about her or Maria.

She could only look at Gary pathetically.

"I'm talking about her," Gary said.

Celeste still looked at him the same way.

"Celeste? Where are you? You're on the third floor, aren't you?" Maria suppressed her laughter. She felt that whatever she was doing now would definitely disturb Gary's plans.

However, it didn't matter.

After all, Gary had come back with an aloof expression.

"Wait! I'm on the third floor," Celeste finally answered and struggled to break free from Gary's arms.

Gary still refused to let go.

Celeste had no choice but to reach out to pry his big hands away, but he hugged her and gave her a big kiss.

She was short of breath and her lips hurt a little.

Celeste tried to shove him away.

Gary took another bite on her lips lightly. Only then did he let go of Celeste.

Celeste immediately jumped up. She was blushing furiously, and her lips were red and swollen. With just one glance, anyone could tell what had happened.

"You... you are horrid!" She complained. She quickly ran too the door and opened it.

Behind her, Gary took a deep breath. He sat there with a heavy expression on his face. He was unhappy that someone had interrupted his time with Celeste.

Meanwhile, Maria had already come up. Her eyes widened as soon as she saw Celeste's blushing face after opening the door. When she saw her red and slightly swollen lips, Maria's eyes twinkled as she smiled evilly. The smile on her face embarrassed Celeste even more.

"When did you come back?" Maria spoke first as she stood at the door. Then, she stretched out her head to peek inside.

"Just now," Celeste's voice was barely audible.

"You didn't tell me that you were back. I went to your room to find you, but I didn't see anyone. I only saw a bag," Maria complained, "It seems that Gary is just too charming. The first thing you did when you came back was to meet with him first."

He took a cool look at Maria and explained, "Celeste is more obedient than you. It's not like she's greedy for alcohol. As for you, you're still too young. You can't control your liquor. If you're not careful, you might end up doing it with a man."

"Hey, it's not like I don't know how to drink. I know my boundaries."

"Since you know, you should be fully aware that you shouldn't touch alcohol," Gary said once again.

Celeste had also heard him. She watched them converse and thought about her relationship with Gary.

Her face was redder than a tomato.

"I just want to drink at home. I don't want to go out," Maria pretended to complain in dissatisfaction, "I have no objection about your praise towards Celeste, but why do you belittle me?"

From start to finish, Gary only listened to Maria complaining and didn't want to continue talking to her.

Celeste saw that Gary was ignoring Maria and tried to smooth over the situation. She said, "Maria, let's have some yogurt later."

"Celeste, did Gary frighten you?" Maria asked, "You're already twenty years old. You can have a taste of alcohol." "I don't want to," Celeste shook her head. She had taken a few sips that day, but she didn't enjoy the taste. She didn't like it and preferred yoghurt.

"I think brandy tastes better," Maria thought for a while and said, "Once you drink, you'll be in a daze and you can sleep easier! It's amazing."

Gary let out a cold laugh as realization dawned on him. A light flashed across his deep eyes as he said, "So you drank to treat your insomnia. What's the matter? Are you heartbroken?"

Maria held her breath as her smile froze. Her cousin was really sharp.

She came to her senses soon and tried to cover it up, "Gary, what are you thinking about? Why would I have insomnia or have my heart broken? Love is for ordinary people. I'm different. As a student of London University, how can I be so unreliable?"

"Since you brought up London University, I'm very curious," Gary continued, "You could have gone to Oxford or Cambridge, so why did you insist on going to London University?"

"I... I prefer it," Maria said hurriedly.

The smile on Gary's lips deepened. It was obvious that he didn't believe her. In fact, she wasn't even keeping it a secret at all. She had directly exposed the truth.

"Oh, do you like the university or someone there?"
