"Stop it," Heinz cut his wife off. "Even if that were true, I'd never be together with Cindy."
Grace chuckled darkly before she left.
Heinz followed her and could not help asking. "Why are you laughing?"
"Is it a crime if I laugh? That's too much, Heinz!" Grace turned around to look at him.
Heinz immediately smiled and said, "No, you can laugh. I was just a little nervous."
"I suddenly remembered that you spent a night in the Northern City highlands with him before you met me. At the time, you seemed to be impotent."
Heinz blinked. "So, you remember that, huh?"
Grace replied, "Of course I do. I just wonder if it's real. How can a man suddenly get it up when he couldn't before? Isn't that strange?"
"What's so strange about that?" Heinz felt that his wife was questioning him and humiliating him at the same time.
"Nothing, I just think it's impressive." Grace laughed as she walked downstairs. "Let's not bring it up anymore."
Well, she was the one who brought it up in the first place.
Heinz was frustrated at his wife's actions.
After Grace and Heinz went downstairs, they saw that the children were still sitting at the table. However, they ate slowly.
The butler had brought them two new dishes, which were Heinz's favorites.
Of course, Celeste was considerate enough to have the butler cook with Heinz in mind.
Gary gave his mom a pointed look when she came downstairs.
He said, "Mom, we've finished the bull p*nis. Does that mean Liam and I love our girlfriends very much?"
Grace glanced at Gary and smiled. "The cat's out of the bag, so why are you still pretending? Do you think I don't know what you're up to? This is just beef tendon. I would respect you if you really ate bull p*nis, but since the butler and your dad have told you the truth, it doesn't mean anything."
"Mom, so you're admitting that you were playing a trick on me?" Gary asked.
"That's not what I'm saying." Grace replied seriously. "I was just kidding. Also, I was trying to help Celeste and Maria find out the extent of your feelings forthem."
Gary and Liam glanced at each other helplessly.
Liam didn't dare to say anything.
On the other hand, Gary refused to give up as he looked at his mother and said, "So, mom, how did you find us?"
"You two did amazing, and you're very loyal to your girlfriends. However, I found out that your father ruined my whole plan. I'm hurt," Grace said as she glanced at Heinz.
Then, everyone looked at Heinz.
Heinz could do nothing about it. He smirked and ignored his wife's joke.
Gary asked, "Is it fun for you to play tricks on us like this?"
"Nope, and I apologize," Grace sat down and spoke to Liam and Gary. "Liam, Gary, I'm sorry for tricking you guys. Thank you for not being mad at me. If you were, I would have a hard time."
"Nonsense, Aunt Smith. It's no big deal." Liam shook his head right away.
"Thanks for understanding, Liam." Grace then glanced at Gary.
An unknown emotion flashed in Gary's eyes as he said, "It's not a big deal either."
"Aunt Smith, Gary won't hold it against you. You did it for us, and we understand that you're joking."
Celeste explained very timely.
Maria seconded Celeste with a smile. "Yes, all of us get it."
No one wanted to argue with a pregnant woman.
Especially since Grace was approaching middle age. It was too risky.
"Let's continue eating. Thanks for being so generous. Come on," Grace replied.
Meanwhile, Heinz stood and did not take a seat.
Celeste immediately got up and said to Heinz, "Uncle Jones, please sit down and eat."
Heinz nodded and sat down in a chair beside his wife.
"Uncle Jones, Celeste specially had these two dishes prepared by the butler when you got home. Hurry up and eat." Maria spoke up for Celeste.
"Really? How considerate of you, Celeste." Heinz smiled at Celeste before he picked up his chopsticks and tried the food. "It's delicious. Please have some."
After that, the meal went smoothly.
Everyone managed to calm down after the whole practical joke.
There was an unspeakable emotion surging in Liam's chest, and it felt unbearably bitter.
Liam nodded at Maria.
In the end, he still summoned up the courage to answer the phone.
When the call was connected, shouting was heard on the other end of the line. "Are you dead or something? Why did you take so long to answer the phone?"
The reprimand was harsh even though the caller was a million miles away.
Both Liam and Maria heard it.
Hence, Maria frowned.
On the other hand, Liam didn't say anything.
Another shout came from the caller. "What's wrong with you? I'm talking to you, and I expect a reply!"
Liam clenched his phone hard and pursed his lips. Restraint was clear on his face as he kept the call going.
Maria took a deep breath when she heard the caller yelling. After that, she took the phone from Liam as he stayed silent.
Startled, Liam tried to stop her, but it was too late.
Maria had already said to the caller, "Hello, may I ask who's on the line? "
"Huh? A girl?" Doubt filled the caller's voice, and she mumbled to herself. "This is Liam's number, so why did a girl pick up the phone?"
"That's right. I am a girl." Maria calmed herself down and said in a monotone voice, "I'm Liam's manager. Who are you? Why are you calling him?" "You're his manager?" The caller was a little surprised. "Oh, he found one so quickly? Great! Okay, Liam hasn't sent any money home in a long time, so tell him to do so quickly."
Maria was stunned and asked again, "Who are you?"
"I'm Liam's mother." The caller's voice was very confident. "He has a responsibility to support us."
"Us? Who are you referring to?" Maria was rather surprised at this revelation.
"Didn't Liam tell you? Us refers to me and his brother," Liam's mother said in a cocksure tone.
Maria frowned and she glanced at the sad expression on Liam's face. He seemed incredibly despondent.
Her chest ached for Liam, and she said to Liam's mother. "Oh, good day, Mrs. Robinson. Can I ask you a question?"
