Claudia smiled again. "Oh, I really didn't expect you to be so reserved."

"What else can I do? I'm still underage, so I won't ask a man to marry me. That would be mad."

Claudia laughed so hard that her shoulders shook. It felt as if Sylvia had told her the funniest joke possible.

"What are you laughing at?"

Finding it baffling, Sylvia rolled her eyes at Claudia.

Claudia finally stopped laughing and said, "Do you feel that we are actually like two old friends? Although we just met yesterday, we actually can talk about anything already."

Sylvia nodded. "Yeah, you're right. To think I actually hated you yesterday."

"Did you hate me a lot and feel like beating me to death?"

Sylvia replied, "Well, it's not that bad. If I like someone and he doesn't like me the same, it doesn't mean that I can hate his girlfriend or fiancee. I don't want to be like that. That's unkind. I know right from wrong, and my parents always told me to not to go overboard. Although I like pulling pranks at home, I know my limits."

"I never expected you to be so upright." Claudia was a little surprised.

"That's how I am."

"What if I was really Kendrix's girlfriend?" Claudia asked inquisitively.

"If you were really his girlfriend, then I have nothing to say. You met him first, and Kendrix and

I weren't meant to be. All's fair in love and war, so how could I be mad at another woman?" Sylvia chuckled.

"However, you just said that you hated me just yesterday," said Claudia again.

"That's because I didn't want to see you anymore. Seeing you would make me think of my failed onesided infatuation towards Mr. Trevino," Sylvia said.

"Nice, you didn't disappoint." Claudia laughed and said, "Oh right, please keep my feelings for Sebastian a secret because I don't want your parents to know. If they have a bad impression of me, I'll never be able to get into their good books, got it?"

"Are you really interested in my brother?" Sylvia was a little shocked. She thought Claudia was just saying that for fun at the heat of the moment, but hearing Claudia repeating it again then, it seemed like she could be serious.

Claudia giggled as she looked at Sylvia. "Hey, why do you think I'll be so shameless and come to your house to stay the night otherwise?"

"I thought you were here to tell me that you're not Mr. Trevino's girlfriend."

"This is only one of the reasons. I'm here to kill two birds with one stone. Firstly, I'm telling you that I'm not Kendrix's girlfriend, and secondly, I'm after your brother," Claudia said, "Otherwise, it's so embarrassing for me to go through so much trouble just to come here like a lunatic."

"Are you for real?" Sylvia stared deeply into Claudia's eyes, wanting to discern her true emotions.

Claudia unexpectedly got very close to her and said, "I'm as serious as can be."

Sylvia saw the sincerity in Claudia's dark and sparkly eyes, and her serious expression.

Sylvia was fixated as she stared into Claudia's eyes, and she looked at her for a full minute.

Meanwhile, Claudia stared straight back fearlessly, as if there was nothing wrong with what she had said at all.

Her gaze was so pure, it looked as if there was no ill intentions behind them at all.

At last, Sylvia started to believe her.

"Sebastian is so young, but you're actually in love with him. What's wrong with you? Isn't he just a kid to you?"

"Didn't I tell you my reason a long time ago?"

"There's a difference between pretending to be young and actually being young. No matter how hard you try, you're still older than Sebastian." Sylvia chuckled.

"You make me sound like an old hag. I'm only 22, girl, not 70. I'm at my prime age." Claudia corrected Sylvia seriously.

Sylvia looked at her and muttered, "When my brother is 22, you'll be an old woman then."

Claudia then gripped Sylvia by the wrist and made a fist at her.

Sylvia burst out laughing. "Don't be angry. I'm just a little worried that he doesn't feel that way about you."

Claudia pondered for a moment before she said, "I'm sure he does have feelings for me."

Claudia recalled what Sebastian had said to her previously. It was a lot, and he was harsh, to be honest.

Therefore, from that, Claudia felt that Sebastian treated her differently from the rest.

However, Sylvia didn't believe that a quiet, dull man like Sebastian would fancy someone as bubbly as Claudia.

She was afraid that Claudia's road to love would be quite difficult.

"I hope your confidence will help you win over Sebastian in the end."

Sylvia gave Claudia her blessing.

Claudia nodded and said, "Of course. I won't give up until I reach my goal. Just like you."

Sylvia paused, thinking of her own love life. Then, she smiled wryly. Her road to love wasn't easy either.

She nodded and said, "Let's go. I'll take you to Sebastian's room."
