Sylvia didn't expect Chigo to bring up their childhood. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Chigo, I didn't think you'd still remember that."

Chigo smiled and said, "It seems you haven't forgotten either."

"Yeah, I haven't," she admitted with a smile.

"Alas, we're getting on in years." Robert smiled as he looked at Sylvia and then at his great-grandson before turning to William, "The kids sure have grown up, huh, William. Our time is nearing too."

"You're d*mn right. We're counting our days now." William nodded in agreement and sighed. "Look at Chigo. He's a grown man already!"

"He's five years older than Sylvia," Robert said before moving his gaze to Kendrix.

Baffled, Kendrix thought Robert would say something, but all he did was smile at him before returning to William, "Do you remember the marriage you proposed long ago?"

William was taken aback. "Marriage?"

"Yeah. Back then, you said we should be in-laws." Robert took a meaningful glance at Chigo and

Sylvia.

Sylvia felt the atmosphere turning awkward under the stare of others. Sure enough, she felt a change in Chigo's gaze when he looked at her.

She blinked, thinking, "Marriage?"

"Who's marrying who? Please don't let it be me."

Before she could end her train of thoughts, Robert spoke, "Sylvia, do you remember you saying you wanted to marry Chigo?"

His words struck her like a bolt in the blue.

All of a sudden, she felt her head buzzing.

It was as if someone had dug up her deepest, darkest memory.

She blushed and didn't dare to look at Kendrix for fear that he might misconstrue.

But at the same time, she wanted badly to know his thoughts on it and his reaction.

Nervous, she looked over and saw him staring back at her. She could see the sadness in his eyes.

The sadness surfaced in a snap.

He emitted an icy aura as if he was the winter snow.

Sylvia chewed her lips and turned her gaze to Chigo.

Chigo was also looking at her with a deep and serene gaze.

William didn't speak up instantly. The atmosphere turned awkward just as Robert brought that up.

No one spoke, but Robert didn't find it awkward and even added, "C'mon, don't tell me you've forgotten about it, William. Are you this forgetful? Did you get dementia and forget about it?"

"Oh, c'mon, you old fart, how do you still remember something like that from so long ago?" William took a look at Kendrix and Sylvia behind him.

Robert also followed his line of gaze and swept his eyes across their faces.

While looking at them, he said, "Sylvia, why don't you say anything? You wanted it yourself; you used to beg Chigo to marry you."

Sylvia had thought she could brush it off if she didn't say anything.

But she was obviously wrong.

She had no choice but to say, "I have no memory of it at all, Mr. Robinson. You didn't deliberately bring it up, did you?"

"Yeah. It's exactly that you don't look like you remember it that I wanted to jog your memory." Robert said with a smile, "Is it right, Chigo?"

Chigo smiled and said, "Great-grandpa, you should let Sylvia introduce the guy next to her."

Finally, someone noticed Kendrix's presence.

Sylvia immediately said, "Chigo, this is my friend, Kendrix Trevino."

Chigo looked at Kendrix, who only nodded a greeting, silent.

As soon as they entered, Kendrix said to Sylvia, "I'll see you off here. I won't bother you anymore. Could you push him back in yourself?"

And her heart sank seeing him like this.

She nodded, not wanting to make things hard for him, saying. "Okay, I can push him back in myself. Thank you for your time, Mr. Trevino."

"Hold up, Mr. Trevino." Of course, there was no way William was okay to let Kendrix leave at this time. "You sure you want to leave me in my underaged great-granddaughter's hands? What if she had an accident and I fell from it? Would you be able to live with it?"

William's words took Kendrix aback.

He added, "Is this not against your principles? What is the principle you abide by so strictly? Leaving a weak old man by his door seems to be against your principles, no?"

Stumped, Kendrix looked at William.

William looked over his shoulder at Kendrix as well, having no intentions of letting him leave.

Smiling, Kendrix asked, "Are you asking me to stay?"

"You don't want to leave, don't you?" William threw the question back at him.

Floored, Sylvia looked at the two of them and didn't know what to say. But she had to admit William was good at rendering Kendrix speechless.

Without a word, Kendrix pushed William inside.

She had no choice but to follow behind.

The butler quickly noticed William's return and came right over to them. "Mr. Trevino, I'll take over."

Kendrix handed the wheelchair to the butler and said to William, "Is it okay to leave you here?"

"What do you plan to do if I say no?" William retorted.

Kendrix wasn't the slightest bit annoyed, saying, "I still have something to do, so I have to leave."

"Is that so?" William smiled and said to Sylvia, "Sylvia, why don't you see your teacher off?"
