In the car.
Sebastian did not move ever since he asked the driver to help Claudia leave.
The driver was puzzled as to why Sebastian would abandon a lady and her luggage out of the car. It wasn't like him to be so ungentlemanly, especially when it was late at night and on a busy street.
However, he couldn't do anything about it since Sebastian didn't bother to explain. He watched as Claudia left and disappeared into the night.
It was indeed a little difficult for Claudia to cross the busy road with her large luggage. Even so, she did not look back as she continued to walk forward and was soon gone from sight.
The driver sighed, opened the door, and got into the car, "Young Master Sebastian, it'll take some time before we get out of this traffic. The ambulance has not arrived at the scene, and nor have the police. It might take another ten minutes."
"Okay," Sebastian responded indifferently, his face void of emotion.
"Miss Loris has left," The driver added, "She's gone."
This time, Sebastian didn't say a word.
There was no expression on his face.
Only then did the driver shut up.
Even then, Sebastian still had nothing to say.
Ten minutes later, the traffic finally cleared up.
Cars started moving slowly, and eventually, the traffic resumed smoothly.
Sebastian looked out of the window. No one knew what was going through his mind.
Neon lights shone in through the transparent glass, flashing across his face and forming shadows in the car seats. However, it only made him look more lifeless.
The driver observed him through the rearview mirror several times but said nothing to him.
Wasn't Sebastian just fine a while ago?
What on earth happened in the time that he left to check on the accident? Did the two of them get into a fight?
Claudia was always polite and playful towards Sebastian, so why did the situation suddenly escalate?
The driver did not understand why Sebastian would argue with Sylvia's friend.
However, it was none of his business. He couldn't do anything about it.
The driver resumed focusing on the journey to the Jones family mansion.
Soon, they arrived at the gate of the house.
Not knowing about what had happened, the driver asked, "Young Master Sebastian, do we need to pick up Miss Sylvia? May I know where is she? I think she mentioned that she would meet us at the gates."
Sebastian looked at the car in front of him and knew that it was Kendrix's. He replied, "She's in the car in front of us."
"Alright," The driver nodded and parked aside.
Then, Sebastian got out of the car.
Kendrix and Sylvia, who were in the other car, noticed Sebastian immediately.
Both of them were a little surprised. Where was Claudia?
Sylvia immediately got out of Kendrix's car.
Kendrix followed closely behind her.
Sylvia walked towards the gloomy Sebastian and asked, "Where is Claudia?" "She got out of the car in the middle of our way back to find a place to stay," Sebastian replied calmly.
"What?" Sylvia was stunned. "How can you let Claudia leave by herself? What if something happens?"
Furthermore, it was late at night, and Claudia had a huge luggage with her.
Sebastian had gone too far.
Sylvia frowned as she looked at her brother in dissatisfaction.
"She insisted on getting out of the car. There was no way I could have stopped her," Sebastian said impatiently, "She is an adult. She should be responsible for her behavior. I am not her guardian, and I am not qualified to tell her what to do."
"Where is she supposed to go in the middle of the night? How could you do this? Why didn't you call us and inform us? What if something happens? Are you going to regret it for the rest of your life?"
"If you knew this would happen, why let her come with me?" Sebastian tried to justify his actions, "Furthermore, I don't think I'll regret what she did. Everyone should be responsible for their own actions."
"Sebastian, you've crossed the line!" Sylvia was mad.
Did he think this was a joke? Even if he had any opinion about Claudia, he shouldn't do such an ungentlemanly thing.
How could she not be mad at her brother?
Sylvia couldn't help but raise her voice at Sebastian.
However, Sebastian had a calm expression on his face as he swept a cold glance at his younger sister. Filled with righteous indignation, he scoffed, "I still haven't said anything about you using her as a cover-up to get what you want."
Sylvia pursed her lips at Sebastian's insults, "You don't have to be sarcastic to me."
"If you don't want me to tell you off, you should have behaved yourself from the start! Don't do anything that is out of line. Don't forget. You're still a student, and there are some things you can and can't do," Sebastian lectured flatly.
Kendrix, who arrived a while later, also heard what Sebastian had said. He frowned and glanced at the impatient Sebastian before saying, "Sylvia, go inside with him."
"Miss Sylvia, I don't know what happened either. We were stuck in a traffic jam and I left to check on the situation. When I came back, Miss Loris was already out of the car with her luggage. She told me she was leaving and refused to get back into the car," The driver recalled.
The minute Sylvia heard the entire situation, she knew that it must be Sebastian's work of art. He must have said something nasty to Claudia, thus forcing her to leave.
Sylvia was speechless.
Sebastian and Claudia didn't seem to get along well with each other. They were at loggerheads whenever they were together.
She really wondered why Claudia liked him.
In fact, she felt sorry for Claudia.
"Take me to where Claudia left. Let's start searching from there," She commanded.
"Yes, Miss Sylvia," The driver nodded.
With such large luggage, Claudia must have found somewhere nearby to crash at.
Sylvia hoped Claudia didn't go too far.
Quickly, she took out her phone to call Claudia again.
This time, the call was connected and Claudia's voice was immediately heard saying, "Hello, Sylvia." "You scared me! Why didn’t you answer the phone just now?" When Sylvia finally heard Claudia's voice, she was slightly relieved.
"I was checking in," Claudia answered, "My phone was on silent mode, so I missed your call."
"Are you alright?" Sylvia asked.
"What could happen to me?" Claudia laughed, "That was out of the blue."
"Hey! Do you know how worried I was? Why did you get out of the car if nothing happened?"
"I was playing it cool in front of Sebastian," Claudia responded.
Sylvia really didn't know what to say.
However, she knew that Claudia wasn't as calm as she was pretending to be.
Something must have happened, but Claudia was just too shy to tell her.
Sylvia felt no need to question Claudia any further. "Where are you now? I'll go find you," Sylvia said. "I'm in the hotel now, ready to sleep. Didn't Kendrix send you home already? Have you not returned?" "I came back out," Sylvia harrumphed, "Mr. Trevino is looking for you too. Give him a call and send me your location. I'll go look for you now."
"I told you I am fine. Don't bother to come," Claudia tried to refuse.
"That won't do. I have to see you, or I wouldn't have peace of mind," Sylvia insisted.
Hearing this, Claudia gave in and laughed, "Alright. You can come. I'll send you my address."
