"That's none of your business," Grace said coldly.

Simon said, "Okay. I hope you are all right."

Grace frowned again.

"Grace, I'm really sorry, and I deeply regret it," he said and ended the call.

Grace was still holding the phone. Simon never changed, he always wanted to be the one in control, even when hanging up on her.

Grace then placed the phone on the table next to her.

"Who called?" she heard Heinz's voice.

"Simon," Grace didn't intend to hide anything from him.

"He called?" Heinz sneered and said sarcastically, "Did he finally get his conscience back?"

"Maybe." Obviously, Grace didn't want to talk about Simon. "I think I'm going to sleep," she said.

"Sleep?" Heinz looked at her again. "Haven't you just slept for a long time?"

"Sleeping is good for my recovery." Grace felt that sleep could really help speed up her recovery. Since she was already in the hospital without her son, she could really use some more rest.

For Grace, it was the most sensible thing she could do now.

"All right," Heinz looked at her and said, "Go to bed."

It was a long sleep.

When she woke up, it was already three o'clock in the morning.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she sensed a dim light in front of her, as if only a small wall lamp had been turned on.

Subconsciously, she looked in the direction of Heinz, only to find him staring at her in the dark with a deep gaze, his body was half leaning against her bed.

Grace was startled. "You've been awake?" she asked.

"I took a nap just now," Heinz said.

"Oh." Grace nodded and said, "You should sleep for a while more. Sleeping is the best medicine."

"You've been asleep for eight hours," Heinz stated,

"But I'm still sleepy." Grace got out of the bed. "If I didn't need to use the bathroom, I'd still be sleeping."

She was worn out. The sleep that she'd been having obviously wasn't enough.

She muttered to herself and went to the bathroom.

In the darkness, Heinz looked at her little figure heading straight to the bathroom. He sensed that she was ignoring him after their conversation in the afternoon.

It seems that he couldn't find a way into her heart.

He felt that they were far apart even though she was right next to him.

Sensing something was wrong, Heinz got off the bed and headed to the bathroom.

Grace was still sitting on the toilet when she realized that the door knob was being turned.

She was shocked and almost fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the door was locked.

Heinz frowned as the door can't be opened.

Grace took her time in the bathroom. She washed her face and brushed her teeth in an unhurried manner. Twenty minutes had passed.

She would pretend that nothing happened.

And then she was ready to go out.

As soon as she opened the door, Heinz was standing in front of her, blocking her way. Without saying a word, he grabbed Grace's waist and pulled her into his arms. Then the light was off.

It was pitch dark. Grace felt that his handsome face was lowering down and then he kissed her.

"You..."

Grace felt agitated that he was showing his authority by kissing her without warning.

Her heart was beating fast.

And then Grace recalled her doctor's advice that she shouldn't let herself be in distress. The fast beating of her heart could cause arrhythmia and the toxin would continue to invade her body.

She immediately protested.

Grace's eyes widened. "Oh my god, you're too sensitive."

She was also asking herself if she was putting him at a distance?

She wasn't? Was she?

Heinz glanced at her, turned her around and pressed her against the wall next to the bathroom.

Grace's heart raced even faster

She asked hurriedly in a deep voice, "Hey, what are you doing?"

"Grace." He lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "Do you know how much I want to strangle you tonight?"

"I've already been poisoned. Are you still human?" Grace didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "I haven't lived enough."

"You left me in a blur, and I don't know what I did wrong," he said it with a seemingly angry tone.

Grace was confused.

She stretched out her hand and gave him a push.

"That's absurd. Get your hands off me. I need to sleep."

"Don't sleep anymore," he said. "You've been sleeping for bloody eight hours."

"What should I do if I don't sleep?" Grace was irritated by him. "Heinz, don't be a fool, okay? If I really die because of this, you'll regret it."

She knew that if it went on like this, this man would really lose his mind and she would be in danger.

Her priority now was to recover her health, and she couldn't afford anything harmful to befall her.

How could he act irrationally at a time like this? Did he really care about her?

Grace recalled what Alice had told her, that he didn't care about her or love her. What he wanted was just to be intimate with her without considering her wellbeing.

He still didn't let go of her, which upset her.

She suddenly said in a cold voice, "Heinz, if what you desire is women, go to find someone else. I'm so disappointed that you're treating me like this."

Heinz's back stiffened as he lowered his head to look at her. A sense of danger could be felt.
