Grace remained silent as she faced Zachary, unable to say a word.

She couldn't bring herself to refuse him.

Anyone who had experienced the death of one's family member would understand. Zachary's request was not at all unreasonable.

"Then." Grace's voice was hoarse. "Can I take it that you were the one who wanted Grandma back, not the elders of the Lowe Family, correct?"

"To be honest, it was what both my parents and I wanted," Zachary replied honestly.

Grace remained silent. It seemed like her grandfather hadn't requested for Grandma to return.

Alice could not retain her composure anymore and asked, "Since it's not your grandfather's request, isn't it strange for Grandma to go back like this?"

Zachary nodded. "I intend to ask my grandfather to move my father's grave."

"He will definitely disagree." Alice immediately blurted out. "I think it's impossible."

Grace wasn't in a hurry to say anything.

Zachary looked at her and seemed to understand that Grace would have the final say between the sisters.

She hesitated for a moment before saying, "Mr. Lowe, moving your father's grave was just an excuse. Your real purpose here was to get your grandfather to take back Grandma's ashes."

Zachary was slightly surprised. He hadn't expected Grace to understand and see through his intention so easily.

Alice frowned and looked at Grace. She asked in confusion, "Grace, what do you mean? How did you know?"

"Because Mr. Lowe said that he wanted Grandma's ashes back at Lowe Family's ancestral tomb. Since she will be buried in the ancestral tomb, then there wouldn't be any reason to move out another. This was just your cover-up. Your real intention is to get Master Lowe to accept Grandma's ashes." Grace explained in detail.

Zachary's eyes were filled with admiration. He smiled. "You are indeed a smart person."

Grace sighed quietly. Even though he had admitted to that easily, still, nothing could be confirmed when it came to this matter.

She looked at Zachary and said, "You even plan to scheme against your grandfather. He's already eighty-nine years old. Would you be responsible for the slightest error?"

"Grace, why are you worrying about that?" Alice said. "Who cares about the old man who mistreated Grandma?"

"Indeed." Zachary agreed. "Just as Alice had said, he is already eighty-nine years old. At this age, if he can't see past it, then everything will end easily. It's his life anyway. It has been decades, and some things need to be solved before one's life ends."

"Ha, I can't wait to see the expression on that old man's face," Alice said smugly. "He crossed the line for chasing out Grandma and Mom, and he didn't even care whether they were dead or alive. He even separated Grandma's son from her. How could he have done that?"

Grace nudged Alice again with her elbow as a reminder not to talk so bluntly. She was too frank.

Alice said, "Grace, why are you afraid of him? He is the one who is asking us for Grandma's ashes. We're not in debt to them. Why should we care about what they think so much?"

"Besides, I'm already being very polite. If it was up to me, I would've made him leave," she continued.

"Oh, that's right, it has nothing to do with him. It's all because of that old man. I have the urge to go to their house to scold someone right now."

Grace was starting to grow angry at Alice. That girl was too bold for her own good. She was going to suffer sooner or later with her current temper.

Grace looked back at Zachary who still remained calm, and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Lowe."

Zachary laughed. "You don't have to apologize to me. She wasn't talking about me anyway."

Both Grace and Alice were shocked. How could they have not known about this?

Zachary took out a photo and a letter and handed them to Grace.

Grace observed the photo first. In the photo was a garden in the background and Grandma had a cheerful expression on her face. A slightly younger version of Zachary was hugging Grandma's shoulders, and Grandma's smile seemed serene.

Grace started to tear up with just one glance.

She opened the letter and skimmed through it. It was written to Alice and her.

Her heart started beating rapidly. She felt a rush of complicated emotions to see Grandma's handwritten letter after she'd passed away for many years.

Grace held the letter and began reading it.

It was about the Lowe Family in Southland and the main reason why Grandma had left them. Finally, she hoped to return to Southland after her death. She didn't mention anything about being buried together with the Lowe Family, but she wanted to return to Southland.

At the end of the letter were words that their grandmother wanted to tell both Grace and Alice.

"Grace, Alice, Grandma has met many people in this lifetime. Zachary is indeed my grandson and the same blood flows in his veins. If he comes to find the both of you, Grandma hopes that all of you would bond together. It would be up to you guys whether you will address him as your cousin, but Grandma acknowledges him as my grandson."

Grace read till the letter from the beginning until the end and a strange feeling surged up in her heart.

She looked up at Zachary again and sighed. "You seem to have planned a lot."

He smiled. "It's nothing. I'm just used to it."
