Heinz frowned as he said, "Don't pay attention to him. Anyway, he will speak up if he has a real problem. Otherwise, it is completely unnecessary to contact each other. I am no longer a child who yearns for his father's love."

Gary, who had been silent all this while, said, "That's right! I don't think there's any need to get in touch with him. There's no close relationship between him and us after all. Jensen smirked as he said, "It seems that some words can't be said in front of children. In the future, we shall go to the study room or outside to prevent these children from listening."

Gary pouted and said, "Uncle, I think that you are still the most crafty person. You have been worrying too much. Be careful, though. I've heard that people may lose all their hair due to that reason."

After the meal, Grace and Heinz took Alice and Lowell to the hospital together.

When they arrived, Alex was still there. He was in charge of Candace's affairs in the hospital.

When Heinz came over, he hurried towards them. He stood in front of Heinz and Grace, then nodded slightly as he said, "President, Madam, Madam Lowe didn't say a word since you left last night. The doctor has applied medicine for her. She didn't reject it. Last night, she was found to have severe ascites, hence the doctor did a draining procedure for her. Now, she looks very withered and in pain."

Grace's eyes narrowed worriedly, and she subconsciously looked at the patient's room.

Lowell couldn't help but ask, "Is it my mother?"

Alex looked at him and nodded.

Lowell looked at Grace with a defeated look in his eyes while he said, "Grace!"

"Don't be afraid," she said while holding his hand. After that, she looked over at Alice, who was also pale, and said, "Let's go in and have a look."

"Alright," Lowell replied obediently.

They went in together and soon arrived at the ward.

Candace was lying on the hospital bed with a sick and haggard look.

Her face was almost unrecognizable. It seemed like she grew even older within just a day.

As soon as Lowell entered the door, he bit his lips while staring at the woman lying on the bed as if he didn't recognize her anymore.

Tears welled up in his eyes as his lips trembled. He looked at her for a long time and wanted to say something, but alas, nothing came off it.

However, tears slowly flowed out from his big eyes, wetting his long eyelashes, which were like that of a girl's.

She said unemotionally, "No, don't think too highly of yourself, I'm not that kind. I'm so annoyed with you. Because of you, all my luck is gone. Your presence in this room fills me with abhorrence, do you understand that? Just get out of here!"

Her attitude towards Lowell was very harsh.

However, it seemed that he didn't care.

He looked at his mother and said softly, "I will leave. I have decided to be with my sisters and they have also agreed to take me in."

Candace was slightly dumbfounded but she seemed relieved. Then, she changed her expression and shouted, "Why don't you leave me alone? Get lost, I don't want to see you!"

His voice was choked with sobs. He said in a difficult voice, "Is that really the case? If I hadn't seen that you were ill, I wouldn't have understood why you treated me in the way that you have, especially in the past three years. It all adds up now."

"Now, I know that you are really sick. You were afraid that I could not make a living in the future, so you forced me to learn how to buy things and cook on my own."

"You knew that I might not be able to take care of myself properly at the age of eight, therefore, you sent me to my sisters. I knew everything."

"It's just that you don't have to do it with such a hostile attitude. Can't you speak tenderly to them at the end of your life?"

"Can't you apologize to them? You once owed them. Can't you apologize to them now?"

"Mom, they were all very nice to me and they were very kind-hearted."

"They have even accepted me, but Mom, why do you behave like that? Shouldn't you appreciate them? You picked a fight with them in spite of their kindness. Why are you doing that?"
