As soon as Jensen exited the room, everyone congratulated him.

"Boss, congratulations on your reinstatement."

"Treat us to dinner. This is a big deal that is worth celebrating."

"Boss, we knew that you would come back soon."

Jensen was extremely shocked, and then he began to laugh. "You all knew about it?"

"We heard." His subordinate stepped forward and said, "The doors are not soundproof. We could hear everything. We all heard what you and Terence were talking about. Director Holland was also listening by the door. You see, no one will be able to get away with evil- doings. Served him right."

"That's right," another one echoed.

Jensen nodded and asked, "By the way, who is in charge of Xavier's kidnapping case?"

"They stopped investigating the case. Director Allen didn't allow us to investigate any further."

"D*mn it." Jensen cursed, "Lilian, draw up an investigation warrant. I'll ask Director Holland to sign it. We'll search Xavier's residence immediately."

"Yes, sir!"

Soon, the paperwork was ready. Before Vincent left, Jensen asked him to sign the papers and immediately took someone with him to Xavier's residence.

Alex was still there when he arrived. He heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he saw Jensen.

"You are finally here. Any longer and Xavier would've been back."

"Where is he now?" Jensen asked, "Is he not at home?"

"He went out. Our people found out that he just went to the manor on the mountain to meet with Miranda. He might be back soon."

"Then let's wait for him to show up," Jensen replied. "This time around, I want him to know that every action has its consequences."

"Roger that!"

Concurrently, there was a car parked at the gate of the manor.

It was Xavier. He sat in the driver's seat while Miranda sat in the passenger seat.

"Aunt Miranda, I think we might fail this time," Xavier started. "Diego went to visit Marry, and I heard that he was scolded."

"When?" Miranda was shocked.

"Just now," Xavier replied. "I just got the news before I came. Marry had scolded Diego really terribly."

"Oh, my God." Miranda's face was filled with regret. "That silly woman, why did she scold him? It has made him even angrier."

"He must be very angry," Xavier agreed. "I think it's over for us. Diego probably went there to get a grasp of the whole situation, so it means that he was likely willing to help. Instead, Marry had scolded him. How ironic."

"Help Marry?" Miranda repeated dubiously. "Well, who knows? He would help someone who is upright and righteous, but he wouldn't help someone who's going to go downhill."

"Then, why did he visit Marry?"

"I don't know." Miranda shook her head and said, "Perhaps it's as you said. He just wanted to get to know her. However, things have turned out so badly."

"What do you plan to do?" Xavier looked at her and asked softly, "Why don't you want to sign the papers?"

"Xavier, do you want me to divorce Diego?"

Miranda was shocked.

Xavier nodded and finally said, "Yes. I didn't want to persuade you like this, but we can't help it now. If you insist on provoking Diego and the Quell family, we will suffer in the future."

Xavier widened his eyes and looked at her. He stated coldly, "Don't lose your temper with me. I won't let you do this to me anymore."

Miranda came to her senses and realized that she had lost her power.

Anyone could bully her now.

She gave a wry smile, opened the door to get out, and then walked away.

Xavier shouted from behind, "If you don't sign the divorce papers, don't contact me and my father anymore."

Miranda halted her footsteps.

Xavier then continued, "I have already arranged a blind date for him. If I don't return a week later, and you don't as well, the blind date will begin. There are more than a hundred old ladies, and my dad can choose whoever he wants. You'd better think it over carefully. If you don't go back, he will choose someone else. By then, you will be a mistress."

The word "mistress" deeply hurt Miranda. She whirled around and angrily rebuked Xavier, "You're forcing me to divorce Diego? Xavier, you've crossed the line!"

"This is what you owe me," Xavier answered. "Over the past years, you've only used me to your own advantage. You've never done anything for me, and yet you dare to insult me. Don't you think that's enough?"

Miranda sighed. Indeed, she had not helped Xavier with anything. She couldn't pin any hope on Diego as well. Therefore, Xavier was right.

"You're right. I owe you."

Xavier smiled and said, "Aunt Miranda, help me take good care of my father. I will be filial to you after I get out."

Miranda's eyes suddenly filled with tears. She turned around and waved her hand, saying, "You can leave now."

Xavier watched as she entered the manor, then he picked up the phone and called Jensen.

"Jensen, I'm turning myself in!"
