Sedated Izabella seemed to have lost all senses at this moment. Her arms and neck were covered in bloody scratches from herself, her hair a mess, looking like a mad woman.

The nurse disinfected her wounds and applied medicine, trying to coax her, "Does it hurt?"

Izabella's fingertips trembled, and the nurse thought she had accidentally hurt her. She blew on the wound while applying the ointment, "It won't hurt soon."

For Izabella, this pain was nothing compared to her miscarriage from falling down the stairs and the insults she had to hear from Brett. The pain had become so light that it was almost insignificant.

Izabella saw compassion in the eyes of the nurses, and she felt pretty pathetic, being dragged into hell time and time again by the person she loved most.

Amelia was in the middle of seeing patients when she received the news that Izabella had woken up. After finishing up with prescriptions, she checked her messages, only to find that a usually quiet group chat had accumulated 99+ messages.

She clicked in to take a look, and after just one glance, she froze.

"That poor woman in room 54, just had a miscarriage, and now her husband is here with his mistress to provoke her."

"Was the scream I heard just now coming from that room?"

"Yeah, it was terrifying to see. Her neck and hands were all covered in scratches."

"I thought she looked familiar. Isn't she Izabella from the Salotti family? How did she end up like this?"

"The lady from the Salotti family? The one that went bankrupt two months ago?"

"Yeah, I've seen her pictures from before. She was so beautiful back then, and there's a video too."

As the pictures and video of Izabella wearing a bold red dress, her hair tied up and a confident smile on her lips were sent to the group chat, Amelia couldn't help feeling sorry for her. The Izabella in the pictures had such captivating eyes, not like the dull, lifeless eyes she has now.

The sudden noise startled everyone in the room, and they all looked at her in confusion.

Amelia quickly composed herself, but her gaze was still cold as she looked at everybody around her.

"Dr. Amelia, what's wrong?" A nurse asked hesitantly.

"Nothing, I'm okay," Amelia replied, putting her phone back in her lab coat pocket before heading to Izabella's room. The other nurses were left behind, looking at each other.

"Dr. Amelia was angry just now, right?"

"I think so."

Amelia was known for being indifferent and uninterested in anyone. She was a classic workaholic, and very few people had ever seen her getting emotional. Her usual demeanor was always cold and detached.
