Izabella just turned to leave when Lucas piped up.

Izabella was looking real mad, just stood there like she was glued to the floor, then she managed to say, "If you can be here, why can't I?"

Lucas looked at her fancy appearance, and it really got under his skin. How could Izabella live such a wonderful life when she's the one who wrecked the Salotti family?

That sparkly fishtail gown, the fine jewelry... All added up, that's gotta be at least a mill.

"Brett sure knows how to take care of his sugar baby, doesn't he?"

"Izabella, I should've let Dad kill you back then. You ungrateful bitch, teamed up with outsiders to swallow up the Salotti family legacy. Grandpa must've been blind to give the company to you!"

With a sharp, scornful laugh, Izabella shot back, "Oh? Who should he give the company to? You?"

Lucas didn't reply, but the woman next to him did. "It should have been Lucas. It's only natural for a man to lead the family business. Lucas is the rightful heir of the Salotti Group, and if he was in charge, it would never have ended up like this."

Yeah, right. More like it would've gone bust in less than two years, leaving him broke and alone.

Back in the day, Old Mr. Salotti gave Lucas a chance, but he blew the money on wine, women, and gambling. He never spent a single day in the office, so why would anyone trust him with their fortune?
