Chapter 167 novel Twisted Ties of Love (Izabella Salotti and Brett)

"Initially, it was just a guess. Now that you've said it, it seems confirmed. Do you know what happened to Heckter when he was sent to the hospital that night?" Amelia asked, a faint smile on her face as if she found something amusing.

"He was covered in blood, and his penius was cut off." Amelia described the situation with an excitement that was only missing hand gestures to illustrate how bloody and cruel the scene was.

"Stop talking, I feel like vomiting," Izabella interrupted her.

Amelia pursed her lips. After calming down for a few seconds, the excitement on her face disappeared, reverting back to her previous cold demeanor.

Knowing Heckter's ordeal, Izabella guessed it was Brett's doing. Thinking of his iron-fisted approach made her face stiffen up.

"Why has your face gone so pale, are you scared?" Amelia asked, pushing Izabella's shoulder.

Izabella, with trembling hands, touched her cold face. "Maybe it's because of the cold."

"Do you want to take some medicine?" Amelia offered, watching Izabella nod before getting up to fetch a warm cup of water.

Izabella read the instructions on the box, opened it, and poured out four pills. She was about to take them when a commotion came from outside.

"What's happening out there?" Izabella asked, pausing in her actions.

Amelia got up and stood at the door, peering out. A group of nurses and doctors rushed past with a gurney. Amelia squinted to see who it was, recognizing the orthopedic surgeons.

"Another emergency patient has been brought in. Recently, people who were brought in had either this or that broken." Today it was a hand.

Izabella hastily swallowed her medication and rose to her feet, joining Amelia by the window to observe the scene outside. It didn't take long for her to spot the patient who had been brought in for emergency treatment. Both of his hands were drenched in blood, he lay motionless on the stretcher, and his face, concealed behind an oxygen mask, appeared to be in critical condition.

Normally, Izabella would have turned away from such gruesome sights, as they made her uncomfortable. However, this time she was transfixed. The person being wheeled into the emergency room was none other than Lucas.

"His right hand was amputated, and the nerve tissue in his left hand was damaged. The left hand can be stitched up, but there will be side effects. The right hand is beyond treatment," Amelia explained. She had just taken a look. It seemed to be cut off directly from the wrist; the wound was very clean.

Izabella's voice trembled as she asked, "Is there no way to treat his right hand?" Her words were barely audible, but her tone remained resolute, despite her pallid complexion.

Amelia shook her head sadly. "They couldn't locate his right hand."

If the amputated hand couldn't be found, there was no possibility of reattachment. Lucas would have to endure the rest of his life as an amputee.

Who could have inflicted such a devastating act upon Lucas? The only person Lucas had recently offended was Heckter, but Heckter was still hospitalized. It seemed unlikely that he would have had the opportunity to harm someone else.

As Izabella pondered the events of the past, her thoughts gravitated towards the person who seemed most capable of inflicting such a heartless act upon Lucas – Brett!
