Izabella suppressed the discomfort in her heart and watched Kaley change her shoes, asking, "Have you had lunch yet?"

Kaley replied with a smile, "Not yet."

"Well, why not stay and have lunch with us?"

Kaley agreed without hesitation.

Katie poured two glasses of juice. Kaley took one, put a straw in it and sipped slowly.

She smiled, and looked at Izabella from head to toe, finally landing on her hand and chuckling.

Izabella suddenly felt completely seen through by Kaley, and that feeling wasn't good. She didn't know what to say to stop her from doing this.

Subconsciously, Izabella really disliked this woman. She was sure she knew her before she lost her memory, and what happened between them might not be that simple.

It was always good to be cautious, especially now that she couldn't remember whether Kaley was good or bad.

"Did we know each other well before?" Asked Izabella.

Kaley put down the juice in her hand, wiped her mouth, and replied with a graceful demeanor, though it felt a bit pretentious, "We were acquaintances, met a few times." Kaley paused, "Sis, do you really not remember me at all?"

Izabella looked into her eyes, hesitated, and shook her head.

She really couldn't remember, trying to think about it only brought a headache and fear. A voice in her ear constantly told her not to think about it.

Tiara quickly prepared lunch. Since guests had arrived, she made more dishes than usual, four dishes and a soup, with meat and vegetables.

Kaley sat at the table with the air of a hostess, glanced at the dishes, and pouted her lips, "Since you lost your memory, sis, you probably don't know Brett's preferences and taboos, do you?"

"I have indeed forgotten." Said Izabella.

Kaley spooned out a bowl of soup and picked out the beans floating on top, "Brett, like me, doesn't like bean products."

Kaley's words were undoubtedly a declaration of her autonomy to Izabella.

Izabella listened quietly without responding.

"If you need it, sis, I can write it down for you," Kaley paused, and her gaze inadvertently swept over Izabella's hand. She exclaimed, "Oh, I forgot you can’t cook now."

Izabella's eyes narrowed, "No need, Brett always remembers my preferences and taboos."

Kaley's face changed, and she quietly ate her meal, not acting up anymore.

Izabella put down her utensils after eating half full. Just as she was about to glance at the time, her phone suddenly vibrated.

Brett texted her, asking if she had eaten lunch.

Seeing Kaley glancing over, Izabella held up her phone, "Your brother just texted. I'll tell him you're here. Do you want to stay a while after lunch?"

"No need. He doesn't want to see me. I'll leave soon." Said Kaley.

Kaley didn't like to explain things explicitly, leaving half the space for Izabella to imagine, and what she imagined was often more frustrating than what people said outright.

Kaley was ready to leave after lunch, and Izabella got up to see her off. At the door, Kaley looked up at the surveillance cameras.

Lowering her head, with her back to the camera, Kaley said to Izabella, "Izabella, It's best if you never remember. For you, it would be a good thing to lose your memory forever."

But he was afraid that acting too rashly would make Izabella suspicious, so he told the housekeeper to warn Kaley about what she could and couldn't say.

Even so, he was still worried and pulled up the surveillance video during his break at work to make sure Kaley hadn't said anything she shouldn't have. But he didn't know if Izabella would suspect anything since she was smart.

As soon as Izabella went downstairs, she saw the slippers in the trash can, as if they were deliberately placed there for her to see.

After taking a nap, Izabella's mood was no longer as stuffy as it had been at noon. Looking at the slippers in the trash, she asked, "Do you have a problem with your sister?"

Thinking Brett would say something tactful, but unexpectedly he replied bluntly, "I don't like her, and you should avoid her in the future. Don't listen to what she says."

Seeing that he had such a strong opinion, Izabella felt all of a sudden cheerful.

"Today at lunch, she mentioned your likes and dislikes when it comes to food. Seems like she's pretty close with you." Said Izabella.

Brett frowned, "What dislikes?"

"Stuff like not eating beans or whatever." Izabella said casually and glanced at him, with her tone indifferent.

Brett broke out in a cold sweat. He'd bet that if he didn't come up with a good explanation and make a statement, Izabella might not let him get into bed tonight.

"I don't have that restriction."

Izabella licked her lips, touched her chin and nodded, smiling brightly, "Great then."

And so, next thing Brett saw was Tiara bringing dishes to the table, and the soup was full of beans.

Brett forced himself to eat two bowls of it.
