Izabella's hand holding the phone froze, she couldn't believe it. She looked over and saw Nathaniel with his elbows on the table. His fingers intertwined and thumbs resting on his chin, watching her with interest, and he waited for her response.

A violin piece was playing in the restaurant. The music is soft and melodious. Nathaniel's slightly hoarse voice sounded serious at this time, more charming than ever, "Izabella, love at first sight. That's what I feel for you."

Izabella snapped back to reality, wondering how on earth one could experience love at first sight in a pitch-black movie theater.

Both Liam and Brett had told her that after marriage, she had settled in J City, which meant she had been there for five or six years.

"Really? Your accent doesn't sound like it's from here, but more like from R City."

Izabella tensed up.

Nathaniel continued, "And in J City, people are always direct about their feelings. Love at first sight isn't old-fashioned here."

"Are you from J City?" Izabella asked.

"Sort of." Said Nathaniel.

The waiter brought the dishes one by one. The appetizer came before the main course, and the food in this restaurant tasted great. Izabella couldn't resist eating a bit more.

Her phone beeped with a text message in the middle of the meal. It was Brett reminding her to take her medicine.

Seeing the medicine, Izabella's face stiffened, and she asked the waiter to bring her a glass of water.

Suddenly, he thought of something, staring at the letter on the white pill in Izabella's hand.

It was an anti-cancer drug. Did Izabella have cancer?

"Are you sick?" he asked.

Izabella replied with a simple "yeah," then continued to look at the pills in her hand, feeling bitter. The taste of the pills was nauseating.

On the table was a box of mint candies for a refreshing taste. Nathaniel handed Izabella one.

"Have a candy after your meds; it'll make you feel better."

Izabella didn't refuse and quickly put the mint candy into her mouth, at the verge of vomiting sensations.

"What kind of sickness do you have with so many meds?"

Izabella almost blurted out "stomach issues," but then thought that her relationship with this man wasn't so close that she would answer everything he asked.
