Izabella didn't stay up late that night and woke up early the next day, heading down to have breakfast with Brett.

Izabella loved taking care of pets personally. This was her first time raising a cat, so she was learning step by step.

She would learn to make milk powder, give the cat baths, feed it, and be a qualified owner.

The kitten has already been vaccinated, so Izabella played with it without any worry, repeating its name "Niki" over and over.

The kitten seemed to love the name, and every time Izabella called it, it would meow back, even wagging its tail in response when sleeping and hearing Izabella's voice.

"I feel like you don't love me anymore since you got the cat," Brett, with a sour face, said behind Izabella.

"What, are you jealous of a kitten?" Izabella asked.

"I am," Brett admitted. He had a strong possessive desire and realized quite early on that he had unique feelings for Izabella.

Brett had a black-and-white attitude in life – either he didn't care, or he wouldn't let go once he got it.

He wanted to monopolize Izabella and didn't want anyone else to share her attention, including the housekeepers and servants at home. Now, seeing all her attention going to the kitten, he felt insanely jealous.

Just the thought of Izabella someday leaving him for another man made him feel like his heart was being ripped apart.

Brett's injury healed quickly, and by the third day, his leg was no longer painful. So one day, he found himself in this situation:

Izabella was lazily holding the cat on the couch, legs crossed, surrounded by various fruits and snacks. She was watching TV attentively, enjoying her leisure time.

Not far from her right hand, Brett was kneeling on the remote control. The small device was hard to control in terms of force and balance, making Brett shake after a while.

"Control your strength."

"Wait, which part did you press?"

Izabella had told Brett her bottom lines would be infidelity and domestic violence.

Before Izabella's amnesia, Brett had committed both.

He chose to kneel as a punishment to himself, and he remembered the day when the Salotti family went bankrupt, Alan Salotti went to prison. Izabella had knelt in the rain for half an hour till she vomited blood.

Izabella didn't know what Brett was thinking, but she looked at him with a hint of pity. She couldn't bear to see him kneeling any longer.

She put down the little kitten and walked up to Brett, taking his hand and pulling him up.
