After Brett placed the box down, Izabella was already eating by herself. On the other hand, Kaley sat with her head hung low, anxiously resting her hands on her knees. She appeared as if she had been mistreated, with two plates placed in front of her.

The moment Kaley spotted Brett, her eyes lit up. "Brett, it's time to eat!" she exclaimed.

Brett nodded and naturally took a seat beside Kaley. He picked up his utensils and frowned at the table filled with spicy dishes, unsure of what to eat. He glanced at Izabella, who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying her food, and suspected that she was deliberately doing this to him.

To make matters worse, Izabella had a sensitive stomach and her doctor had advised her to stick to low-fat and low-spicy foods. However, all the dishes she had cooked were incredibly flavorful.

Meanwhile, Kaley's attention wasn't focused on her meal. While she ate, she sneakily cast glances at Izabella, her expression betraying a hint of malicious pleasure.

She knew that Brett was very picky about his food, and the whole table was packed with dishes that were not to his taste. It seemed she didn't know him well at all.

Brett's face was gloomy, a sign that he was about to lose his temper. "Have you forgotten all the doctor's advice? You just had stomach issues, and now you're eating this?"

At his words, not only Kaley, but also Izabella seemed taken aback. She thought Brett would get angry, scolding her for making food not to his taste. But what he said first was concern if she could eat those dishes.

Izabella put down her utensils, smiling meaningfully: "Of course I can eat this, why would I make it if I couldn't?"

As she spoke, she enthusiastically invited Kaley to join.

Kaley nodded with an "Mhm."

"I see." After listening, Izabella just smiled. After helping herself to a bowl of soup, she poured the dishes into the trash one by one, quickly and efficiently. Soon, the table was empty.

With oil on her fingertips, Izabella took a napkin and elegantly wiped her slender fingers. She then looked down at Kaley's pale face with a condescending attitude.

"Since my cooking isn't to your taste, feel free to cook yourself. I believe you can definitely make a great meal suitable for Brett's tastes, Ms. Cornett."
