After Kaley moved back into the villa, Izabella started looking for a job. Strangely enough, she applied to more than a dozen companies online but none of them got back to her.

She couldn't help but wonder if there was a problem with the system. Izabella got up early, made breakfast, and changed into a suit.

When Brett came downstairs for breakfast and saw her dressed up, he asked, "Are you going out?"

Izabella replied while eating her porridge, "I have a job interview."

Brett almost forgot about Izabella's plan to work. But didn't Liam already take care of it? Why would anyone call Izabella for an interview?

Seeing the time, Izabella quickly finished her oatmeal and left. Brett watched her leave and then called Liam to keep an eye on her and obstruct let her job finding.

Liam was puzzled and didn't appreciate Brett's behavior.

Izabella was a 24-year-old adult. If she was kept at home and not allowed to go out, her ability to function in society would be ruined.

Brett wanted Izabella to be a housewife, but it depended on whether she wanted to.

At 18, Izabella took over the Salotti family, portraying an elite image. There's no way she would be content being a caged canary.

Brett understood this, but looking at Izabella's beautiful face and slim figure, he had a twisted imagination of what she could do after losing the Salotti family?

Just imagining Izabella working outside made him feel irritated. He couldn't allow or tolerate Izabella being in contact with other men and being scrutinized by them.

At this point, Brett realized that Izabella was different to him. Like buying a painting, at first, he just wanted to appreciate it, but after discovering that it was an antique, he wanted to hide it, fearing it would be stolen.

When Brett came home from work, he looked around and didn't see Izabella. His eyes darkened as he asked, "Where is she?"

Kaley walked over, hooking her hand with his affectionately, saying, "Izabella is probably not feeling well today. I made dinner."

Brett glanced at the table, which looked delicious, but he just couldn't work up an appetite.

Kaley didn't notice Brett's inner thoughts and kept pushing forks into his hand, "Brett, you haven't had my cooking in a long time. have a taste and see if my skills have improved."

Brett looked at the dishes on the table, not knowing which one to pick. His fingers tightened and then he let go, "You eat first. I'll go upstairs and check on her."

Kaley's smile faltered. Before she could say anything, Brett hurriedly got up and went upstairs.
