Noticing that Yvette seemed off, Noah immediately acted cute. “Mom, did you forget something?” 

Yvette snapped out of her thoughts. “What?” 

“A kiss.” Noah pointed to his cheek. 

Yvette promptly kissed his cheek. “All good now?” she asked. 

“Mhm!” 

Yvette felt a warmth with Noah that she had never experienced during their time together. All the grievances she had suffered in recent days seemed to dissipate. 

Their time together passed quickly. As the afternoon approached, Yvette gave Noah various reminders. 

Unlike before, when they had been abroad, Noah was extremely understanding today and didn’t throw a tantrum to stop Yvette from leaving. 

In the past, whenever Yvette had been about to leave for Tirion, Noah had cried and refused to let her go. It usually took a lot of coaxing before he agreed. 

Yvette had always felt that Noah was no different from other children, except that he was a little smarter. She was visibly despondent after she got into the car to head back. She stared at the rearview mirror until the manor completely disappeared from sight before finally looking away. 

Xavier was seated beside her. He had intended to talk about her birthday, but in the end, he said nothing

“We’ll just grab something, then.” Then, Xavier had the driver take them to a private restaurant he frequented. 

However, Yvette hardly ate anything. Xavier, too, didn’t know how to celebrate a birthday properly. On their way back, he had a cake sent over. 

Upon arriving at Dewberry Manor, Yvette was surprised to see a cake on the table. 

Xavier said nothing and headed straight to the study. 

At this moment, Yvette took out her phone and realized that Claude and Kiki had called her numerous times, but she hadn’t noticed it since her phone had been on silent. 

Worried they might be concerned, Yvette called Kiki back first. 

“Yvvy, you finally picked up! Why did you leave yesterday? Are you okay now?” 

“I left because something came up last night. My phone was on silent; I didn’t hear it ring.” 

Kiki sighed in relief. “That’s good, then.” 

After chatting with Kiki for a while, Yvette called Claude. She told him about what had happened that day. 

Upon hearing this, Claude suggested, “Tell me Noah’s address. I’ll have someone get him out.”

“Yes.” Yvette didn’t deny it. 

“Do you know why Claude came back this time?” Xavier suddenly asked. 

Yvette looked at him, confused. “What?” 

“He’s walking on thin ice right now. If I cut off all his projects in the country, do you think he’ll survive if he goes back?”
