Tristan wrapped his hands around his head and yelled. 

At the side, Avery asked in confusion, “Mr. Shaw, what’s the matter?” 

Tristan returned to his senses. Staring at Avery, he said, “Let me ask you a question. Say someone saved your life, but you didn’t know it and even treated her poorly. 

“Why wouldn’t your savior tell you that she was the one who saved you? After all, you wouldn’t have treated her like that if you had known!” 

Avery pondered it for a moment, then replied, “It’s simple. The first reason could be that she thought I knew who had saved me, but I just didn’t bring it up. She might have 

thought that I was ungrateful, so there was no point in her saying anything about it. 

“The second reason could be that she didn’t think saving me was a big deal, so there was no need to mention it.”

When Tristan thought about it, he realized that Yvette had never actively brought up the things she had done for Xavier or anyone else over the years. She had never cared about those things.

Daphne got up and walked toward him.

“How old are you even? You’re always so careless,” she said reproachfully. 

However, Tristan pushed her hands away. “What do you want?”

Tristan stared into her eyes, which were filled with faux innocence. “Yvette died a long time ago. Didn’t I tell you that before? What are you afraid of now?” 

Daphne was caught off–guard. 

“I was just curious. No matter how you look at it, the Snyders did help me in the past. Yvette may have wronged me, but I am grateful to the Snyders,” she quickly explained. 

“Tris, what’s the matter with you? I feel like you’ve been acting weird these days.”

Grateful? Tristan had never seen Daphne show the Snynders any gratitude. 

Unmoved, he handed a jacket to the housekeeper standing at the side. “My grandfather has been asking me for the crystal pendant heirloom recently.

Daphne bit her lip harshly. At that moment, a loud clap of thunder rang out. Startled, she looked out the window. A bolt of lightning lit up the sky, and a familiar building suddenly fell over. 

At that moment, her driver said, “Isn’t that the Snyders‘ landmark building? Why is it being demolished?”
