"Get out," Yvette commanded. She didn't care how Xavier had come in.

"The front desk said all the rooms here are booked. If I leave, I have nowhere to stay," Xavier said, looking somewhat pitiful.

"It's not even peak season; how could it be fully booked?" Yvette retorted as she picked up her phone to call the front desk. To her surprise, it was indeed fully booked.

She was a bit confused.

At some point, Xavier was already standing in front of her. "It's probably fully booked because the New Year is coming."

"Then go stay at another hotel," Yvette suggested. Surely not all the hotels were fully booked!

"No way." Xavier refused outright and leaned toward Yvette. "I had a hard time finding you here. Do you really want a blind man to go out and find another hotel in the middle of the night? Won't you worry?"

Yvette eventually gave up when she heard that. Sighing, she asked, "Why did you come here?"

"I couldn't leave you alone," Xavier confessed. The last few times he'd stayed in a hotel alone while watching over Yvette, he'd been too lonely. This time, he was determined to stay with her.

In her dream, she felt like someone was holding her tightly. Too tired, she tried to open her eyes but couldn't.

As the dawn light fell on her face, Yvette slowly opened her eyes to find the spot beside her empty. She went to the living room and saw that Xavier was already up, working on his laptop. Breakfast was laid out on the table.
