Yvette started blushing immediately, and she didn't dare to move anymore. She could only look around the room.
She didn't know when the old storage room had started to look different. It seemed as if Xavier had redecorated the room, and it looked gloomy. But it also felt more spacious now.
Xavier's room looked the same as his previous room. Everything was kept neatly organized. Even a single pen was kept in a container on the right-most side.
She couldn't help looking at his hands again. As expected, there were scars on them. She didn't know how he'd gotten them. She couldn't resist asking, "How did you cut yourself and got all these scars?"
Xavier hadn't held her like this for a long time. When he smelled her body, his breathing became heavy. "I don't remember it anymore."
Only a fool would tell her the truth. If he had told her, she would realize that he had regained most of his memories. Then, she would try to chase him out again.
When Yvette heard that, she sighed. "What a shame. By the way, have you forgotten everything about your work from before?"
"What work?" he purposely asked.
"It's nothing." Then, she remembered how he'd played the piano the other day. Then, she mumbled to herself, "You didn't forget how to play the piano. Maybe it's muscle memory?"
As she spoke, she didn't realize that he was getting closer and closer to her. His nose was about to touch her earlobe.
"My leg is fine now. Thanks."
Yvette noticed that he wasn't saying anything, and her leg wasn't in pain anymore. When she turned her head, wanting to get down, her lips met his face. Xavier tensed up, and it felt like all the blood in his body had stopped flowing.
Yvette immediately moved away and was about to leave. Then, a great force pulled her back into his embrace, and he kissed her right away.
It felt like time had stopped in the room. Xavier's face was reflected in her eyes. Before she could return to her senses, he had already placed her on the bed.
She'd never expected his bed to smell that nice.
After Viola had fallen asleep, they'd come out and noticed that Yvette wasn't in her room. Then, they'd thought they'd heard her making weird noises in Xavier's room.
Yvette had never expected to be in Xavier's bed at that moment, and she didn't dare let the two kids find out that something was wrong. So, she pinched Xavier's hand and hoped he would understand her hint.
He said to the children, "She's not here. Maybe she's in the bathroom."
"I see. Alright. Sorry for disturbing you, mister."
"Let's go and look for her somewhere else."
Yvette let out a long breath of relief when she heard them walking away. Just as she was about to get up, Xavier got closer to her again.
"Let's continue."
