Yvette waited outside the hotel with Noah until most of the people had left. Still, there was no sign of Xavier.

"Could he have gone home alone? I'll call and check," Yvette said, picking up her phone to call Xavier. However, there was no answer.

Thinking she might have missed him, Yvette drove back home with Noah. It was a mere 20-minute drive.

But when they opened the door to the manor, everything was just as it had been when they'd left. The lights were still off.

Xavier hadn't come back yet.

"Mom, could something have happened to Mr. Xavier?" Noah suddenly asked.

When he'd been at the hotel, he'd noticed that the security seemed unusually tight, more so than in other places. It didn't feel like they were protecting someone, but rather as if they were trying to catch or stop someone.

Hearing Noah's concern, Yvette decided to call Mark. It took a while before the call was answered.

Mark was still at the hospital. His girlfriend had been in a car accident and had suffered minor injuries, but luckily, she was okay.

"Is something the matter, Mrs. Lane?" he asked.

"Is Xavier with you right now?"

"No?" Mark was puzzled. "There was a bit of a commotion here earlier, so I sent Mr. Lane home first before I left."

"Xavier hasn't come back," Yvette replied.

Mark paused upon hearing that. Now that his girlfriend was safe, he could think more clearly. "Fuck," he cursed with a frown.

Yvette rarely heard Mark speak like this. She couldn't help but worry. "What's wrong?"

"Mr. Lane might be in trouble. Don't worry, Mrs. Lane. I'll send someone to look for him right away." Mark reassured her before hanging up.

"What is it, Mom? Did you reach Mr. Xavier?" Noah asked.

"Not yet," Yvette replied, her face etched with concern. "Noah, stay here and rest. I'm going out to look for him, okay?"

She had once desperately wanted to possess this man. "Xav," she called out, but the man on the bed didn't respond.

Feeling reassured, Daphne approached and sat on the bed, greedily gazing at Xavier's cold, handsome face.

"Xav, did you know that I really did like you? Why did you only remember that bitch, Yvette, after you lost your memories? How is she better than me? Didn't you once tell me you'd never like her in this lifetime?"

Daphne clenched her fists, her nails digging deep into her palms.

The night was still young, and she had plenty of time.

Daphne first removed her coat, then moved to undress Xavier. She had been with many men, but Xavier was the only one she had never been able to have.

Tonight was the day when she would finally get what she wanted.

Daphne leaned down to kiss Xavier on the lips.
