Kara sat in James's arms and calmed down after a while.

The moment she realized that she was still sitting in his arms she remembered that he had warned her not to sit close to men. She suddenly rose from him, her face pale.

Then she lowered her head with embarrassment and didn't dare to look at him.

"Uncle James, I won't get so close."

James was lost in her attachment to him. But her standing away from him made him unhappy.

James found his tricks rebounded on him.

His thin lips were tightly pursed and his brown eyes deep. With a cool expression, he packed the documents in a file bag, then put the jewelry in a small bag and took her out of the room.

Kara was bewildered and terrified as she followed him downstairs.

"Kara is back. I was just about to call you for dinner."

Adam just returned without knowing what had happened. He behaved courteously and winked at Kathleen, who was sitting beside him and covering her swollen face from time to time.

"Kathleen, Mr. James seldom visits us. Hurry up and pour a cup of tea for him."

"No. I'm in a hurry."

After James finished speaking, his sharp gaze swept across the villa and the servants.

Kara noticed James's gaze and stared at the document in his hand hopefully.

"Is that okay?"

James stood beside her, a tall and straight figure capable of supporting a world for her, allowing her to act as she pleased.

"I said before, with me here, you can do whatever you like."

Kara got his consent and nervously bit her pink lips. She gratefully pulled James's pinkie and looked at Linda before turning to look at the servants.

"Susan, Anne, the contract you signed is ten years, right?"

The chef Susan and the servant Anne were surprised to hear their names. They respectfully stepped forward.

"Yes, Miss Kara."

Everyone else had a bad premonition when they heard Kara's words. Kara continued speaking in a soft voice.

"Now I'll give you two choices. If you cancel the contract now, you'll be given a three-month allowance. And I'll help you find another job. If not, I won't give you a penny. But who can you ask for a salary?"

The two servants looked at each other and made up their minds.

Susan said. "Miss Kara treats us so well. We are grateful in our hearts. Anne and I will go pack our things quickly."

Linda heard that Kara was going to drive the servants away, she angrily knocked on the cane in her hand and spoke in a fierce tone.

"Kara, why did you fire them?"

Hearing the sound of Linda's walking stick, Kara hid behind James.

When James saw that the valiant little girl suddenly turned into a timid little kitten hiding behind him, he laughed and held her hand to comfort her.

"Because this contract suggests that Kara has the right to decide whether they stay or go."

"What do you mean?" Linda was confused.

"The wages of the servants are settled monthly in the fund that Kara's father gave to her. There is a clear provision in the contract that Kara has the right to terminate the contract at any time." James raises the contract in his hand.

The servants' expressions stiffened. When David was alive, Linda had said that she wanted to live in this villa, but he did not agree at that time.

They packed their things and pushed their suitcases out.

Anne whispered, "Miss Kara, the driver Lee wants to leave with us."

"Sure, he can go with you." Kara nodded.

Ever since she was born, Lee served their family with dedication and had tried his best to take care of her since her father passed away.

Sometimes Lee pleaded for her and sent her to the hospital when Linda hit her.

Kara thanked him and said to Susan and Anne, "Don't return the key to Lee's car. That car is for him. Your salary will be paid soon. Your new jobs will also be arranged in a week."

"Thank you, Miss Kara." Susan bowed gratefully and pulled Anne away happily.

Hearing Kara gave a one-million car to Lee, the Quains found it hard to let it go.

"Kara, you're the black sheep. I didn't agree to give that car away." Linda's expression was ferocious.

"It's mine, and I have the right to do it. Grandma, if you want it, let Uncle Adam and Aunty Sophia buy a new one for you." Kara retorted.

Sophia looked grim when she heard that she would buy a car for Linda.

"Kara, you are just a little girl. You're so extravagant. You will squander more greatly if you grow up. We're a family. Give the car to Lee. It'll be inconvenient for us to travel sometime."

James sneered.

He frowned with his thin lips tightened. Obviously, he did not have any patience.
