Amelia stood next to the bed and leaned down to kiss Eli on the forehead. She tucked him in before turning off the lights and leaving the room.

In the kitchen, the food Eli left for Amelia had turned cold. She heated it and ate it. After taking the medicine for her stomach, she rested for a while and went to shower before going to sleep.

The next day at 5:00 am, Amelia woke up and washed up. She went to the grocery store nearby to buy some ingredients. Then, she returned home and made breakfast. She made lunch as well and put the food into an insulated lunchbox. At this time, Eli woke up.

The two had breakfast together. After that, they carried their own bags and lunchboxes to the subway station.

On the way to the subway station, Amelia said, "Eli, if you really don't want to study at Somerset Academy, you can transfer schools. But you need to think it through. Once you leave, you won't be going back."

Eli looked at her, astonished. He never expected that she would suddenly change her mind when she had been adamant about him studying at Somerset Academy.

All of a sudden, he remembered the man who showed up at home last night. Was it because of that man?

Eli didn't answer. Instead, he entered the subway station and was separated from Amelia after transferring lines.

The accounting firm Amelia worked at during the day wasn't near to her house. She needed to take the subway and then the bus. It took at least an hour and a half.

After working for the entire morning, she heated the food in the company at 12:00 pm. Taking advantage of the lunch break, she changed into a set of casual clothes after eating. She quickly went to the supermarket's warehouse nearby to unload the goods before the lunch break ended at 2:30 pm.

That day, Amelia planned to tell the manager in advance that she wouldn't be coming for the time being after finishing the work this week. After all, she had to find another place to stay. She might find another school for Eli as well.

Gideon's appearance made Amelia feel uneasy. She needed to move to another place so that he couldn't find her.

"Amelia, you're here." Frank Lewis, who was the manager in charge of logistics, walked out of his office.

Amelia was caught off guard. She stumbled and collided with the beverages on the side. The beverages just so happened to be cocktail beverages in glass bottles. Once she collided with them, half of them fell.

With a loud boom, Amelia knew that something was wrong. Nevertheless, she couldn't react in time. More than a dozen bottles fell to the ground. The alcohol in various colors was mixed and spread throughout the ground.

The man ignored her. Once his subordinate had recorded the state Amelia was in, he left with his subordinates.

"Amelia, what are you doing?" Upon hearing the commotion, Frank rushed over. When he saw the beverages on the ground, he was furious. "You can't leave if you don't pay for this!"

When Amelia was in the Gaskell residence, she would never even consider drinking these cocktail beverages. Now that she was tight on money, she wouldn't think of buying them at all.

She had broken so many at once. She felt wronged but didn't have anywhere to voice her grievance. She had no choice but to take responsibility.
