It was as Gideon had expected!

He had quite the eye when it came to first impressions. If Amelia were the type to do something like that, he probably would refrain from having anything to do with her in the future.

"You've got to give them a good lesson after this," said Gideon, grabbing Amelia's arm and forcefully pulling her up from the couch. "I'll lead you to the bathroom so that you can have a shower."

Gideon had been drugged like this before. He felt terribly awful and had to shower with cold water when the drug started to take effect to keep his mind clear.

Amelia wasn't mad at the kids for what they had done, though. She was even a little glad, to be honest. Were they hoping that she could be together with Gideon? Were they trying to match-make her and Gideon?

This strategy of theirs wasn't particularly brilliant because Amelia knew Gideon hated getting drugged.

She didn't like it either because it made her feel terribly uncomfortable. As time passed, she felt her body heat up, and her head pounded a little. It didn't feel good, and her limbs felt weak too.

Gideon pulled her up from the couch, but she was so weak that she couldn't even stand straight. Eventually, he resorted to carrying her to the bathroom.

Being in such close proximity, Amelia could smell his scent, and her already heaty body became even warmer until she started moving around due to how uncomfortable it was.

Gideon himself started feeling a burning sensation all over him. He could bear it, but then Amelia started wriggling in his arms, making him slowly lose the ability to restrain himself.

"Stop moving!" he said through gritted teeth.

By then, Amelia's head had started buzzing due to the effects of the drug. She was starting to lose her clarity of mind. It was like all those years back.

She was drugged once 12 years ago, and it was also Gideon who saved her. At that time, she feared that he'd take advantage of her in that situation like how other men would.

But he didn't. He simply let her sit in a bathtub full of cold, icy water and called Hera over to drain some of her blood to treat her. He had been so gentlemanly and respectful toward her.

Therefore, Gideon told himself that he'd rather not marry anyone in this lifetime than have a problematic marriage that could bring misfortune and calamity to his family!

He never thought that Amelia would still have feelings for him after so many years.

"You've been drugged, Amelia. You aren't fully conscious now. Go get a shower." That was all he could say as he carried her to the bathroom and put her down on the floor. He then turned on the shower so that the water splashed directly on her.

The chilling coldness of the water cleared her mind. She grabbed his shirt from the front and said with much certainty, "I'm wide awake! I like you! I like you so much!"

Gideon furrowed his brows and pulled her hand away from his chest. "Let go."

But Amelia didn't want to let go of him. The two of them struggled against each other in the confined space of the washroom as the showerhead sprayed water everywhere until both of them were completely drenched.

The air seemed to change all of a sudden as the temperature seemed to rise. Seizing the chance, Amelia summoned the courage within her to stand on her toes and throw her arms around Gideon's neck before kissing him on the lips.
