Hera froze as she digested his words. "You dummy!" She laughed.

Bernard smiled at her and pulled her into his arms so that she was sitting on his lap. "What kind of dummy would let you sit on his lap like this?"

"I'm serious!" Hera grabbed his hands to stop him from taking things further. "One of my patients is in a coma. Johnson majors in neurology. I was thinking of letting him take a look at the patient."

She'd be able to find a cure more quickly if she and Johnson worked together on this case. Besides, they had once performed surgery together. She thought they made a good team.

Bernard's heart broke for her. "Is the case so complicated? Let someone else handle it, then. You're only 18. Don't wear yourself out. I can support you even if you don't work. Don't make yourself tired all the time. Why don't we go out for a date the day after tomorrow?"

The silence in the air was broken by the timely ringing of his phone, which he had placed on the desk.

He glanced at the screen, let go of Hera, and stood to grab the phone. At the same time, Hera received a message from Tyler. He sent her an address.

Tyler had promised her that he'd send Hera an exclusive code that could beat even Vulcan himself. With this in mind, she stood to leave the room.
