Bernard got changed and left the west wing.

Gemma, who was surprised to see Bernard, walked out of the waiting room. "Bernard? What are you doing here?"

It was still working hours. Bernard should be at work!

"Do I have to report to you wherever I go?" Bernard gave her a cold look.

He had always been this cold and hostile toward the Killians, so she was used to it. She said calmly, "I don't mean it that way."

Ignoring her, he scanned the area, but there was no sign of Hera. He asked Wayne, "Where is she?"

It took Wayne a while to realize that Bernard was looking for Hera. "Hera's checking on Xavier in the consulting room."

Bernard turned around and marched toward the consulting room. He grabbed the door handle, only to realize that it was locked!

Creases formed between his brows.

Whenever there was a consultation with patients, the door would be closed but never locked.

Assuming that Bernard was going to intrude into the room and interrupt the consultation, Gemma stepped forward to stop him. "Bernard, Xavi's consultation with Ms. Youngworth hasn't ended. Please don't interrupt them."

Her eyes reddened. "Xavi's been sick for so long, and we barely found a doctor who could help him. I hope he can recover soon and look after himself. Otherwise, I won't be able to rest in peace even after I'm gone."

"Save those crocodile tears," Bernard sneered.

Gemma's driver heard that and couldn't help but think, "Crocodile tears?"

Everyone in the Killian family knew that Gemma genuinely wished the best for Xavier.

Noticing that the door was opened, Bernard scanned Hera from head to toe. After making sure that she was fine, his gaze landed on Xavier, who was wearing his shoes while on the bed.

Bernard's icy gaze sent a shudder in Xavier, causing him to lose a grip on his shoes. He hurriedly picked up his left shoe and slid it on his right foot.

"Ms. Youngworth, how's Xavi?" Gemma came forward and asked. When she noticed that Xavier had put on the wrong shoe, she entered the room and knelt before him to help him.

"His case is complicated. Be mentally prepared that he'll need a long time for treatment." Hera ignored Bernard and wrote a prescription. "Please come over on time to get his medicine."

"Alright." Gemma accepted it without a shadow of a doubt as she had heard of Youngworth Miracle Clinic's rules before.

After Hera sent them off, Bernard blocked her by the door of the consulting room. "What were you guys doing inside here? What took you so long?"

Hearing the jealousy in his tone, she felt speechless. He had been acting jealous lately.
