The moment Mildred finished speaking, the doorbell rang. Wayne went to open the door and saw Bernard there. He politely greeted, "Mr. Killian."

Speak of the devil! Hera felt a headache coming on when she saw Bernard. She was concerned that he would get jealous again and wanted to kick him out.

She hurried forward. "What are you doing here? Didn't you say you wouldn't be done with work anytime soon?"

"I wanted to give you a surprise," Bernard said gently while icily sweeping a glance at Thiago, Nicholas, and Tyler, who were seated on the couch.

Hera said nothing. This was the start of his jealous tirade. She hurriedly held his arm, intending to push him outside. She wanted to remind him to not make a fuss and ruin Catherine's good mood.

Instead, Bernard took the opportunity to hold Hera's hand and politely called out to those behind her. "Mrs. Jones, Madam Barker."

Catherine exclaimed, "Oh, you're here!"

"You're just in time. We're almost about to start dinner. Quickly wash your hands and join us for a meal. Mr. Sanderson and the others are here as well. Will Mr. Copley join us too?" Mildred greeted.

Bernard answered, "Sure."

His answer left Hera slightly startled. She did not expect him to not be jealous.

"I have matters to attend to, so I won't be joining." Douglas quickly waved his hand.

Bernard turned to take the gift bag from Douglas before dismissing him. He then handed it to Catherine.

"Mrs. Jones, I heard from Hera that you've not been sleeping well lately. I bought an aroma diffuser and some essential oils from an auction to help you sleep. You can give it a try."

"Just accept it. He's got plenty of money. I'll use some essential oils later," Hera advised Catherine before helping her put the diffuser away.

"Madam Barker, I didn't know you'd be here, so I didn't prepare any presents for you. Take this card and use it whenever you want to buy anything." Bernard took out a black card and handed it to Mildred.

Mildred, who had been extremely envious earlier, lit up in excitement upon seeing the black card. Who wouldn't like having a generous grandson-in-law like Bernard? To her, Hera should just seal the deal with Bernard.

"Oh, you're too generous. How could I accept it?" Although Mildred said so, her actions betrayed her thoughts. She immediately took the card and pocketed it, leaving Hera speechless.
