Back at the main banquet hall, Rhett noticed that something was wrong and quickly instructed someone to cut off the power supply to the monitor.

"Initiate Plan B," he ordered the person through his earpiece.

The monitor was suddenly turned off, leaving the guests flabbergasted.

"What's going on?"

"Why did they cut it off?"

"Looks like something is fishy about Ms. Linda's death."

"Dr. Shadow isn't related to the Ms. Daphne, is she? She was switched when she was a baby. Dr. Shadow said that Ms. Linda didn't invite her to the party. Now that they've met… Could it be that it wasn't a show but something real?"

"That's possible. Ms. Youngworth said that she was here to cause trouble when she came."

"She sure knows how to cause trouble. Look at the Gaskells from Norburgh and the Chimes. There's drama wherever she is."

"That's because those families deserved it, especially the Chime family. The inhumane things they did were unforgiving. Someone has to stand up for justice."

Hearing the chatter grow louder, Rhett hurriedly told the host to go on stage to keep the situation under control.

"We apologize for the technical issues. It was supposed to be a small show halfway through the party. Regardless, the party shall now resume with the gift-giving ceremony."

Despite the feeble excuse, the guests somewhat quieted down.

Nicholas stood up and grabbed the microphone. "Allow me to be the first to present my gift to Ms. Linda."

He knelt down in front of her under the public's eyes. His voice was choking as he said, "I'm sorry, Mom. It was Uncle Rhett and Aunt Linda who persuaded me to swap your medicine, and I listened to them. I was out of my mind.

"She even told me to drown Uncle Xavier! I couldn't do it, so she tried to strangle me to death. It was Dr. Shadow who saved me. If it weren't for her, I would've been gone by now."

He continued with a trembling voice, "I've been repenting in a small dark room this entire time. I know that I was wrong. You don't have to forgive me, but don't let them deceive you!"

His confession sent the guests wild.

Rhett was so caught off-guard by that. The strong uneasiness prompted him to go backstage and urge the person through his earpiece, "Initiate plan B! Do you hear me?"

"Mr. Rhett, we've cut off the power supply, but someone used a generator and locked the room. We can't go in," reported his subordinate.

"You useless fools!" Rhett cursed under his breath.
