Catherine usually did not eat much for dinner. Today, she ate exceptionally little. It didn't take long for her to put her cutlery down.

Seeing that made Douglas quickly ask, "Is the food not to your taste?"

It wasn't that Catherine didn't like the food. She just thought about how Bernard and Hera had gone through a life-and-death situation. Thus, they would want some alone time together.

"No, I'm full. I suddenly remembered that I forgot to feed Tiramisu. Herie, I'll go back home now. Bernard, you should stay here and accompany Herie."

Bernard was somewhat delighted to hear that Catherine was leaving. He couldn't wait for her and Douglas to quickly leave so that he could have Hera all to himself.

However, he suddenly recalled Felix's reminder. Bernard had to control his desire to own Hera and not be so possessive of her. He had to respect her and give her personal space.

Although he wanted Douglas to send Catherine home, Bernard said, "That pig can stand to be hungry for a little while longer."

"Stay with me a little longer, okay?" Hera did not want Catherine to leave so soon either. Although Catherine declared that she had let go of the past, she still secretly paid attention to any news about Daphne.

"Best not to let Tiramisu go hungry. Once it goes hungry, it'll simply knock everything down to look for food. The clinic will be closed tomorrow, so I'll come over to accompany you early in the morning." Catherine gave an excuse. She would do anything just to give them some alone time.

Since Catherine was adamant to leave, Bernard could only say, "Douglas, please drop Mrs. Jones home."

"Will do." Douglas hadn't finished his food, so he quickly ate a few more bites. After wiping his mouth, he stood up to send Catherine home.

As soon as the door closed, Hera and Bernard looked at each other with desire in their eyes. Bernard placed the thermos down before kissing Hera firmly on the lips.

Hera no longer held herself back and passionately returned his kiss. They pressed their bodies tightly against each other.

Hera's hospital gown was almost halfway off when Bernard suddenly stopped.

He looked away before picking up the thermos again. "That's enough. Stop torturing me. It's not that I don't want to do it, but you're not well enough. Have some more soup first."

Hera ate in disbelief. By the time she finished her medicinal meal, they were both much calmer.

"Don't be so stubborn next time!" Bernard suddenly exclaimed.

Hera was aware that Bernard was referring to her reckless attempt to stop the time bomb from detonating. "But if I hadn't done that, all of us would've died! I don't want you to die."

Bernard was touched by her words. He hated himself for not being able to protect her.

Hera was the second woman in this world who was willing to sacrifice herself for him. The first one was his deceased mother, Pamela Twain. Bernard did not want to lose Hera.

"You still love me very much, right? Let's not break up anymore, okay?"
