"The truth about your daughter's death was finally unearthed, Dr. Youngworth. What are your thoughts on the matter?"

"You've exposed Linda's true colors, Ms. Youngworth. Do you think this will mean new developments for Mr. Greg Killian's case?"

"You've put Ms. Linda behind bars, Ms. Youngworth. Have you thought about how you're supposed to keep living in the Killian family with Mr. Bernard?"

Hera refused to answer them. She had just helped Catherine out of the car when a group of reporters immediately huddled around them. Samantha flanked Hera on her left, worried that these crazed reporters might tug at Hera's arm injury and make it worse.

Bernard got out of the car. His bodyguards swiftly came over to block off the reporters and made a path for them. When the group walked through the courthouse's entrance, they saw Chad, who looked stern.

Hera wore a blank expression, while Bernard frowned slightly.

"What are we going to do? Is the head of the Killian family here to settle his score with you in person?" Samantha whispered her question to Hera.

"Stay calm. We'll see what happens next," Hera responded. Chad might not be here for her.

"Can we have a word with you in the room around the back corridor, Mr. Bernard?" Neil stepped forward and asked.

Neil might've sounded polite, but Bernard was the only one who knew that Chad purposely came here to intercept him. He was doing this because he wanted Bernard to return to Killian Corporation's headquarters.

Bernard didn't want Hera to see him fighting Chad. He lowered his voice and said to her, "Go inside with them. I'll be back soon." Hera nodded and led Catherine inside with Samantha.

Bernard and Chad then headed to the back corridor. Chad had asked Neil to arrange a private room for them, where snacks and beverages were already prepared.

"Visit the doctor if you have a spasm in the face. Why do you have to come out here and disgust people?" Bernard said disdainfully.

Chad was at a loss for words, and the smile immediately froze on his face. Then, it vanished altogether. He even shot Neil a begrudging look. He must've been a fool to take his advice.

"See, Mr. Chad? It worked. Although Mr. Bernard has a sharp tongue, he expressed concern for you," Neil quickly whispered in Chad's ear.

Chad didn't know what he should say right now. What kind of show of concern was that? He trusted Neil too much. That was why he acted like a fool and did what he said.

Chad rubbed his face and went back to his stern look. He questioned, "Did you block all my numbers?"

Ever since Bernard hung up on him the last time, Chad changed a lot of different phone numbers. However, he could never get through to Bernard on the phone. He was even blocked on WhatsApp. He came here to intercept Bernard because he was flat out of options.
