"Can't you tell that she was putting on a show the whole time?" Hera interrupted Margaret.

"Was she acting?" Margaret was startled. "But it's a serious business negotiation. How could she be fooling around?"

"If it really were that easy, would Brenda have let us take credit for landing the deal?" Hera answered with a question of her own.

Margaret faltered, knowing that Hera was right. Brenda sought out XS Corporation for half a year and did not manage to secure the contract. She certainly looked rather smug while pushing the responsibility to Hera.

Margaret and Hera had only been at Jadonia for a few days. Although their attempts to book an appointment hadn't gone well, it only took them a few days to reach Giselle. Perhaps it was too easy, after all.

"Maybe Brenda didn't approach the right person. Well, what should we do?" For a moment, Margaret was at a loss as the matter was out of her hands.

Hera didn't answer her and gestured for the server to bring a menu instead. Seeing that made Margaret ask anxiously, "Esther, how could you still be in the mood to eat?"

After ordering her food, Hera passed the menu to Margaret. "Since we're here, we should eat before going back to our place. I heard that the food at the Imperial Hotel is quite good."

Margaret didn't know what to do. Hera always had been like this. Aside from Dora and Dylan, Hera wasn't concerned with anything else. Since the server was still waiting, Margaret had no choice but to order her food.

"Don't tell Vanta about this for now. Pretend as if we're doing as Giselle said and continue keeping in touch with her," Hera ordered.

Margaret seemed to know what was on Hera's mind. She distrusted Giselle and wanted to see what she was up to later.

"But what if she was being serious? What happens if we can't get it done in time?" Margaret asked.

"Besides, I heard that Mr. Whitlock will arrive in Jadonia in two days. I think he's here for XS Corporation's product launch as well."

"I'll handle XS Corporation." Hera took a sip of the coffee that the server had just brought over.

"How are you going to do it?" Margaret was very curious. She hadn't been able to meet with Theo, let alone Bernard.

"Don't bother about that. Just do as I say," Hera said calmly.

Not long after, the food was served. As the two were halfway through their meal, there was a sudden commotion at the entrance.

A group of bodyguards dressed in black uniforms pushed the crowd aside to clear a path for Bernard, who exuded an intimidating demeanor.

Meanwhile, Hera glanced at the exclusive elevator, which finally stopped on the tenth floor. She then entered the guest elevator nearby.

Anyone would need a card to use the elevator, and not every guest was allowed to access the tenth floor.

However, that wasn't an issue for Hera, who keyed in some codes on her phone before scanning it at the card reader. Once she was given access, she pressed the button for the tenth floor.

Meanwhile, Bernard was in the presidential office on the tenth floor. He stood before the floor-to-ceiling window while staring at the traffic downstairs.

Douglas led the hotel branch manager into the room before reporting on the preparations for the product launch.

"Sounds good. You're dismissed." Bernard nodded. The branch manager hummed in response before leaving.

Douglas stayed back for a moment and said, "Mr. Bernard, Mr. Lucius has invited you to dinner tonight."
