"Okay." Dylan nodded. "But first, we need to make sure he really is our dad. Then we'll evaluate him. If he's mean or treats Mom poorly, we won't acknowledge him even if he's our Dad."
Dora hesitated, not wanting to give up a father who was rich, good-looking, and powerful. "So what does Daddy need to do for us to acknowledge him?"
Dylan pulled out his laptop and clicked open a document. And in no time, a list of criteria came into view.
Although Dora didn't like studying, she could still read. She gasped, "That many? Dyl, you're being way too strict! Are you going to be this strict with your future wife too? You'll end up single for life!"
"This is just part of the list," Dylan replied as he continued typing.
The more Dora looked at the list, the more she worried for their dad. But considering that he hurt their mom, he deserved a strict evaluation!

As Hera was ignoring him, Bernard angrily pushed open the door to the east wing. A layer of dust fell from the door, swirling through the air.
Bernard covered his nose in disgust and stumbled back. Douglas quickly fetched water and cleaned up the dust before Bernard stepped inside.
He visited every year and would bring two different items to add to the periodic table on the wall. Others thought it was a hobby. But in truth, it was more than that. He vaguely remembered promising to collect all the periodic elements for this wall.
Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember who he was doing it for.
"Besides, as Mr. Thompson often says, 'No woman can resist money. Give her a house and some diamonds, and she'll fall right into your arms.' Since she's already your lover, shouldn't she have what other women have?"
"Did you not see how different she is from other gold diggers?" Bernard retorted.
Douglas froze. Hera indeed wasn't like other women. He hadn't expected her to throw the contract to Bernard. But fortunately, Douglas was quick-witted.
"Well, she's just more proud than other women. But that doesn't mean she doesn't care about you. It's almost lunchtime, right? I'm sure Mrs. Kill—Ms. Hera has gone to cook, and she'll probably invite you to eat soon," Douglas explained.
This seemed to have some effect on Bernard, and his expression softened. He asked skeptically, "Really?"
