She stood there, silent, unsure of what to say.

"Finn, are you guys here?"

Suddenly, the door to the stairwell opened, and Liliana peeked her head out.

Seeing Finnian and Amara indeed there, she leaned against the wall and slowly made her way inside.

Her face was as pale as a sheet, and she looked like she might faint at any moment. Finnian quickly went over to support her, murmuring, "Why did you come out?"

Liliana bit her lip, glancing at Amara with hesitation, and then looked up at Finnian, tears welling in her eyes.

"I didn't know where you went. I got scared. Please don't leave, okay?"

Finnian's face was stern, but his tone softened a little. "Where would I go?"

Liliana nodded, and just then her body gave way, her legs unable to support her, nearly tumbling down the stairs.

With quick reflexes, Finnian caught her in his arms, and seeing her so weak, he simply picked her up and carried her out of the stairwell.

Amara watched them leave, not moving an inch. She gradually settled down, realizing she had said quite a few inappropriate things and had pushed the situation to a rather precarious point. It was impossible to say she didn't regret it at all.

But Amara knew that there was no use crying over spilled milk. Regret wouldn't fix anything, so she decided to stop dwelling on the past and focus on how to fix things.

"Given what happened, anyone would have been upset. Your reaction was perfectly normal, so don't worry about it."

"Yeah, Ama, don't sweat it. You're usually so calm; it's okay to lose your cool now and then. If it were me, I might have lost it even more, hahaha."

They all chimed in with reassurances, leaving Amara a bit stunned. Just moments ago, these people had clearly been siding with Liliana, with some even giving her scornful looks. Amara remembered it all vividly.

But now they were saying they believed her, that she hadn't done anything wrong, and their expressions seemed genuinely sincere. What was going on?

It only took a moment for Amara to understand. Her outburst had been too genuine.

She wasn't an actress, so her acting skills weren't great, but she looked like someone who had been seriously wronged, like an honest person pushed to their limit, with nothing left to lose.
