Liliana's gaze flickered maliciously for a moment before she made up her mind.

She couldn't take it any longer! Leaning in close to Finnian, she whispered, "Finn, I don't want you to defend Amara anymore. Can you do that for me?"

Then she added, "You've been acting strange around Amara lately."

Her words hit Finnian like a bolt of lightning.

Finnian’s body slightly tensed, his eyes dark with an emotional storm.

His relationship with Amara was purely transactional, just business. There shouldn’t be any emotions or complications, and Liliana was right to ask for this.
