Brianna found herself at a loss for words.

With the possibility that the child might be Vincent's, it made sense that William wouldn't stick around for Tiffany.

Brianna was struck with a realization. "Wait, this is the reason he suddenly wanted to break up?" she wondered.

She stared intently at Tiffany's belly with envy flashing in her eyes.

"Is that William's child?"

"Yes." Tiffany glanced behind her.

Brianna's attention was fixated on Tiffany's pregnancy.

There had been a slim chance between her and William before. But with Tiffany expecting his child, Brianna knew her hopes were dashed.

She shook her head firmly. "You can't keep this baby!"

"That's not for you to decide," William interrupted.

Brianna turned toward the door abruptly. "William… What are you doing here?"

William's gaze briefly lingered on her face. It was as if even a moment's pause was too much to bear. He walked straight over and handed Tiffany her bag.

"You left in such a hurry," he said softly.

After taking the bag and giving it a quick look, Tiffany noticed that the bottle of folic acid tablets was different from before.

She looked at William.

William casually explained, "The one you bought wasn't good, so I got you a different brand. You can take it without worrying about potential side effects."

He seemed to take on the role of a caring guardian, like a father looking after his baby.

Tiffany frowned. "Who said you could snoop through my bag?"

"I didn't snoop. I just grabbed it, and the folic acid tablets fell out," William clarified. Then, he offered her a bank card.

"Here's my spare card. The password is your birthday. Keep it for expenses."

"Yes! Maybe I played dirty in the beginning. But can you honestly say you never considered marrying me later on?

"Remember when we browsed engagement rings? You didn't refuse. You even picked out styles earnestly. It's obvious you saw a future with me!"

William paused, taking a moment to gather his thoughts.

"Yeah, I had pictured marrying you, but your behavior… It's repulsive," he said. "I couldn't imagine marrying someone like you, and my parents would never approve."

"Hey, is Tiffany any better? I mean, come on, we all saw what was going on with her and Vincent."

"Could you just shut up?" William's tone turned harsh.

Brianna hesitated for a second. Then, she flashed a gentle smile. "Looks like you're more bothered than you're letting on."

"I already told you to shut up!" William's frustration was palpable.

Brianna bit her lip and inched closer to William. "I won't say anything more, William. Even if you want to reconcile with Tiffany, it's okay. Just remember that I'm here for you. Whenever you need…"

"I don't need that." William pushed her away and walked off.
