"There's no need to go to such trouble, Mrs. Lewis Senior. You can just drop me off at a bus station. I'll take the bus home," Teresa said.

"That won't do!" Anna said. Then, something occurred to her. "I remember you came with your husband, right? Where is he? Why did he leave you alone here? There aren't any bus stations nearby or anything."

Teresa felt a little awkward at the mention of Eric. Still, it wasn't appropriate to talk about her problems to an outsider.

"He had something urgent to attend to at work, so I told him to leave without me," she explained.

Anna had enough life experience to tell something was amiss. Despite Teresa's words, she could tell Eric didn't treat her well.

Upon further thought, everything made sense. She figured the earlier mess had caused Teresa and Eric to get into a fight.

They would probably get into a bigger fight if she were to send Teresa home now. After some consideration, Anna said, "I have a request to make of you, Teri. I hope you'll agree."

"What is it?"

"I'm a pretty picky eater. Vincent hired a few nutritionists for me, but none of their cooking is to my liking. Seeing you today reminded me of your cooking. If it's convenient for you, could you come over to my place to cook my dinner?

"It doesn't need to be too fancy or complicated. I just want to have some regular, home-cooked food. At least it'll satisfy my cravings."

Anna sounded earnest, but Teresa still glanced at Kelly hesitantly. "Well… wouldn't it be too much trouble?"

Kelly was about to say something, but Anna beat her to it. "Of course not! What's so troublesome about it? It's fine as long as you're okay with it."

"Alright, then." Teresa figured she wouldn't be able to do anything about her and Eric's argument if she were to head home at this hour. She agreed to cook for Anna.

She was so stunned that it took her a few seconds to process his words. When she returned to her senses, she tried and failed to start the car.

The rain was getting heavier. The raindrops pattered against the roof of the car. Vincent took his suit jacket off. "I'll go check on things."

Before Tiffany could say anything, he got out of the car and circled to the front to check the situation. It was dark outside, and the car's headlights had gone out from the crash.

Tiffany was worried about him, so she got out after turning on her phone's flashlight. Then, she walked over to Vincent and stood behind him. She illuminated the car's hood with her phone.

He was taken aback. "What are you doing here?"

She didn't respond to that. Instead, she asked, "How is it?"

"It's stuck. We're gonna have to get a tow truck." He straightened up. "Let's wait in the car."
