That afternoon, Ivy headed to the interview room. She entered to see two women seated inside.

One of them stood up with an ingratiating smile when they saw her. The other remained seated, though. She gave Ivy a once-over with a raised eyebrow; her expression was haughty.

"Are you both here for the interview?" Ivy put her documents on the desk and sat across from them.

The one standing answered, "Yes, that's right."

The seated one didn't say anything. She continued appraising Ivy with her eyebrow raised, acting like she owned the place.

This pissed Ivy off a little, but she didn't let it show. Instead, she told the standing woman, "Show me your résumé."

The latter handed it over, looking respectful. Ivy glanced at it. "Brianna Upshaw?"

"That's me."

Ivy skimmed through the résumé before turning to the woman who'd remained seated the whole time. "And where's yours?"

"I don't have one. My name's Mandy Stewart—I'm Charles Stewart's sister. He spoke to Mr. Lewis about this and told me to just come over for an interview."

It was Ivy's turn to raise an eyebrow. "Sorry, but our company follows a strict procedure. If you can't even produce a résumé, then I can't interview you."

Then, she picked up her documents and stood up. She said to Brianna, "Come with me."

Brianna hadn't expected things to go so smoothly. She was overjoyed as she hurried after Ivy.

Mandy didn't enjoy being snubbed. She pulled out her phone to call Charles. "Sorry, but the number you've dialed is powered off…"

Brianna looked around the floor and said in a low voice, "A friend of mine says she works here, but I don't see her around."

"Your friend? What's her name?"

"Tiffany Lloyd."

Ivy frowned at that. The look in her eyes became hostile again as she gazed at Brianna. "She's your friend?"

As a fellow woman, Brianna could clearly detect the contempt and dislike in Ivy's eyes. She hurriedly said, "We used to be on pretty good terms but fell out after some issues.

"I visited her here in the past, and she told me she was working in the executive department. I thought she was telling me the truth back then, but now… Looks like she was pulling my leg."

She knew Tiffany had been lying. How could someone like her land a job in Lewis Group's executive department?
