Tiffany was so mad that her face turned red. But to Kelly, this was a sign of Tiffany's guilt and humiliation.

She said coolly, "You're still young, Tiffany. You should stop coming up with silly ideas that'll take you down the wrong path."

"I didn't—" Tiffany wanted to speak up for herself when she met Vincent's gaze. It was gentle and open; there wasn't a hint of doubt in it. It soothed her.

When Vincent saw how her eyes had turned red, he said, "Go and get Alex for me, Tiffany."

Tiffany was taken aback. If he wanted to see Alex, all he had to do was make a call. There was no need for her to leave the office at all. Was he getting her out of the way so he could speak to Kelly?

"Yes, sir." She stood up and left the office.

As soon as the door shut behind her, Kelly said, "Mr. Lewis, about Brianna—"

After a brief silence, Vincent said, "I'll give her another chance since you spoke up for her."

Kelly was delighted. "Thanks, Mr. Lewis!"

She leaned down and hugged him. The smell of her perfume wafted into his nostrils. It was expensive, but it made Vincent scrunch up his nose.

He still felt that the fragrance from Tiffany's shower gel was much better than this.

Tiffany brought Alex to Vincent's office. When they arrived, they saw Brianna and Ivy standing with Kelly.

Brianna ran over to her and said, "I know you don't like me, Tiff, but I'm not going anywhere. No one can kick me out with Ms. Harrison backing me up."

Tiffany bit her lip. Then, she asked, "Why did you tell Ms. Harrison that I'm the one who tried to steal William from you? You're the—"

"I'm not wrong. William and I would've gotten together ages ago if not for you. I'm the one he's liked from the beginning—it's just that you two met before we did.

"He may have been dating you, but his heart was with me. You two were only a couple in name—there isn't anything to prove that you guys were actually together.

"Think about it. Did you two even kiss each other after being together for so long?" Brianna kept her voice so low that she and Tiffany were the only ones who could hear this.

"No, thanks. You guys have fun."

"You wanted to see me, Mr. Lewis?" Alex asked as he stood before Vincent's desk.

"Yeah." Vincent threw him a random document. "Read this."

Alex flipped through the first few pages. "This is the document I just passed to you, right? Is there anything wrong with it?"

Vincent pointed at the couch nearby and said, "I want you to sit there and go through the document very, very carefully."

Alex was lost for words. He didn't understand what was happening but still did as he was told. He sat on the couch and repeatedly reviewed the document.

By the time working hours came to an end, he could practically recite the document word-for-word, but he still didn't see anything wrong with it.

Alex read it one last time before approaching Vincent. "I honestly can't see what's wrong with it, Mr. Lewis. Could you point it out for me, please?"
